How Do I Put All This Into Perspective?
My take on the learning the curve for Online marketing is it isn't difficult, but there are so many terms and procedures to remember.
Here is a fraction of the terms used in internet marketing:
Behavioral Targeting (BT), Brand Stacking, Cloaking, Domain Authority, Doorway Page (not to be confused with Landing Page), Growth Hacking, Link Juice, Three Way Linking, TLD, and to end it all Yandex and Z-index.
Another thing to keep in mind is there may be one term with more than one name: push and outbound in marketing mean the same thing. Pull and inbound in marketing mean the same thing. Influencer Marketing is similar to celebrity endorsements.
Don’t be overwhelmed by all these terms - at least 500 of them. According to portent.com, we should know 33 Internet Marketing Terms: A-list bloggers, Affiliate Marketing, Analytics, AJAX. Blog, CMS, Conversion rate, Domain name, Flash, Hit, Link Authority, Movable Type, Pageview, PEBCAK error, Ping, PPC, Ranking, algorithm, Reciprocal linking, Registrar, RSS, SEO, Social Media, Spam, Static website, URL, Unique Visitor, Visit, Web 2.0, Web 3.0, Web Application, WordPress, XHTML. So if we include terms learned at Wealthy Affiliate, which includes most here, then I guess we are good to go.
