Good morning wonderful people!

Gotta Have Coffee

For years, I've collected coffee cups!

Drinking coffee started as a young child with my Mom. Being the youngest child, each morning when my brother and sister headed off to school, Mom and I had our time together. Half a cup of coffee with plenty of milk and sugar, was my portion.

Our kitchen table had 2 bench seats and while we seeped coffee, my Mom would tell me about to "Little Man in the Seat". This little man would help her cook and if I was in time out, he was also watching, while Mom jabbered away to him about all the things, they were doing.and I was missing.

I loved this time with Mom, and as I look back, this was the most attention I got, as it was our only alone time. I played with pots and pans, and made trains with the dining room chairs, with her help, of course.

Mom's imagination was immense!

Drinking coffee, without the cream and sugar, has always been the start of every day, since.

Start With an Intention

Today, I start the day, beginning with what cup to use for inspiration with which coffee cups I'll use in tune with what I want of my day.

If I'm determined I'll pick my Taurus cup. If I want to be creative, I'll pick my Monet cup, and if it's Sunday, it's usually my cup with the church birdhouse.

With coffee in hand, I head to my chair.

Morning Meditation Time

Many of you know from past blogs, I do a Tarot reading every day. Once the cards are out, I pick up my books and read.

Today's showed a need to act, if I want to get to my dream, so here I am, practicing some writing. I've also watched a video on "adding slides for YouTube videos", and later today I'll head to Canva, to practice what I' was introduced to from Vitaliy's Canva course.

Feed the Birds and Dogs

Here's my birdfeeder that my son made from a tree, struck by lightening, and had to be cut down. The gaping hole was where the lightening burned out the tree. It made have killed the tree, but it's now a work of art!

We can see this from my seat and kitchen, as is our morning entertainment!

This picture has Mr.Cardinal and Mr.Blue Jay, eating peacefully, together.

While we watch the birds, Ginger keeps an eye out for those pesky squirrels.

They don't have a chance, when my GinGin is on guard!

This week Ginger and I have been doggie sitting for Gracie, while Suzanne is off to Big Bend with her husband, Sean.

As you can see, they work up an appetite!

Ginger has been to TimeOut after chewing the ear cushions, off my headphones! "Bad Ginger! You don't chew Mom's things!"

"Here comes Russ, Girls"!

My youngest son, usually pops in to his Starbucks, ...Mom's house, for his cup of Joe.

After exchanging a few words, as he is always in a hurry, he's off to his assignment for the day. He's a very creative carpenter, and always has work to do! Works on referrals only!

Breaking Fast

Eventually, we head to the kitchen for something to eat. We "Eat to Live, not Live to Eat"!

If the doggies are that hungry, they have crunchies in their bowl!

This is a very typical morning at my household, for a day that I plan to stay home.

Early to Rise!

On those days that I do have a morning commitment, my routine is very often, the same, but I'm up earlier.

I haven't used an alarm clock for many years, so NO obnoxious sound starts my day, and I have no Snooze alarm to keep pushing.

How do I wake up on my time? I program it in with my night time going to sleep meditations. The end of the day is a prayer and gratitude review, and time to plant the next day's intentions.

I plan ahead, as I detest running around late! Tradiness has always annoyed me, a throw back to many years of teaching! I'd rather be early, than late, anytime!

When teaching, leaving early for my commute, had me avoiding all the crazies of rush hour!

This habit allowed me to get to my classroom, and cleanup yesterday's mess, and start my day without confusion of yesterday. By the end of a day, I was ready to just get out of there!

Each Day is a Brand New Slate to Create My Day

Things always work better and make for a much more productive day, when I start with a plan!

How About You?

I'd love to hear about your morning routines, and how you start your days.

If you don't have a routine, "How's that working for you?"

Having a plan keeps me on the Pitcher's Mound with focused intent,

NOT the Pinball, which gets whacked around, at the whims of others!

In closing, I'll share a memory from WAY back, when I saw "Tommy", at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit.

"Pinball Wizard"- The Who

It's now noontime, and I've accomplished so much already!

Hope you're all having a productive day!

Good day, and God Bless!

Barb

I love that bird feeder, Barb. Here there are too many quail and pigeons to feed the birds openly. Guess I need a Ginger to chase them away. For now I have made a "caged" feeder that the smaller birds can get into but the big ones can't.

I start each day with a list of priorities that tend to get rearranged as the day goes on. Certainly not as structured as my careers were, but I enjoy doing service for others that they can't do for themselves.

Guess I match the pin ball machine in my twice retired lifetime.

Archie

I call that kind of day a Plan B, Archie.
My plan A is what I think I'm going to do, and Plan B is where God sends me.
I just try to be flexible! LOL
To me the pinball effect is when there is NO plan.
Starting a day on social media, and everyone else's problems, or just watching to news, and being immersed in all the fear, which I can do nothing about.
When I say social media, I'm not including WA. :)
Retirement allows plenty of freedom of choice.

We get our share of mourning doves, instead of pigeons.
Funny though, they seem to take turns. Today, there were over a dozen wrens, working on yesterday's leftovers. Then came the Cardinals, usually to first to announce "The buffet is open!", to all who were waiting. I'm not great at walking to dog, so she gets plenty of exercise chasing away the slew of squirrels.
Thanks for stopping by and chatting, Archie!
Barb

I do seem to get much more done with a to-do list:)
B

With that definition, Barb, I guess I don't fit the pinball effect. I have never caught up to the point I have hours to spend on FB social or to watch the fake news.
So, like you, I go into Plan B when called upon to be of service to someone, and then right back to my Plan A list.
I forgot to mention all the mourning doves here as well. They are usually small enough to get to the seed. The ring-necked doves are almost as big as the pigeons.
Have a wonderful Frisatsu, as Jeff calls it.
Archie

I sure will, Archie!
When we have those days, where we're sent else, my friend and I just say, "It's going to one of. Those Plan B days" , and accept it.
Sharing today's feeder scene. LOL
Enjoy your weekend whether PlanA or PlanB, Archie!
Barb

Ginger to the rescue of the bird seed. 🥉A medal for a job well done.

They don't have a chance, unless Ginger's snoozing!

Inspirational, Barbara. I love your bird feeder.

I'm sitting down at my computer at the moment, drinking my first coffee for the day, so your post resonated.

I bought a proper espresso machine a few years back. I love it. It makes barista-level coffee and I once worked out that it costs me 15c per mug!

Also, haven't used an alarm in many years. I just wake up around 6.30am and start my day.

Thanks for the post.

Phil, I used to do the fresh ground, too, but now Folgers is the ticket, especially when my son comes and emptied my pot.
I'm happy I helped start your day, Phil!
Enjoy!

You have given me the urge to go fix a cup of coffee.

My day starts at 7:00 or 7:30. I usually wake at 6: turn up the heat; go back to bed for an hour or so. Then it's time for the morning supplements. I've not been drinking coffee, but now will have to make an exception!

Then, I get my computer running and submit my question for the clowder and my daily cat-nip in my FB ladies' cat clowder. Have been doing that for months...maybe even more than a year.

Then, it's time to go over the emails to see what needs to be addressed right away. After that, I start on whichever WA tasks are on my list for the day.

Have always had a little saying I like...passed it on to someone else this morning...Each day is a new little life. It means there's always a new chance...and new opportunities and surprises. It works for me.

Love it Fran!
"Each day a new life!" , something we can really appreciate the older we get.
I usually don't get into emails or any media until after I've done my routine.
I'm disturbed by phone calls, especially sales calls, before 9, but some are earlier than that. I'm old school. Unless it's an emergency, it's just rude.
Hope you enjoyed your cup of coffee!
Thanks for stopping by!

It's coffee on most mornings for me, Barabara. But if there's a morning commute that I'm not looking forward too? Then it's green tea, to keep me calm when dealing with those drivers!

Isaiah 😊

Isaiah, I always have my coffee to-go cup! As for the drivers? Getting that early start really helped eliminate that annoyance. Never have been able to get into green tea, though I tried.
During that 45 minute commute, when teaching, I'd listen to Christian radio.
No commercials and a good message to begin one day.
Thanks you for stopping by, Isaiah.
Hope you're enjoying a productive day.

I drag myself out of bed and grab a coffee which was brewed before I went to bed and possibly a breakfast beer on occasion and I get on the computer and deep dive into the Wealthy Affiliate Community first thing, bar none, Sis!

Brudda

LOL!
Beer, the breakfast of champions!
Coffee is much better when dragging out of that warm bed, and into the refrigerator.
You do have a routine that down pat and works for you, Bro!
Haven't checked out your Thursday, but I know it was very productive!
