My first Blog post

My progress so far? Well, it has been a bit of a slow start. The training is very comprehensive, and I found WA members are always willing to help answer questions. It is daunting learning the technical side and being creative and marketing.

I have built a website, bought a domain, wrote one article, several others in the pipeline, and have an About us page and Privacy policy.

We are currently pet and house sitting on Whidbey Island, WA, which is nice, but we often lose the internet, but I shouldn't use that as an excuse. So I often have to resort to pen and paper, which is okay when you get used to it.

My Niche, I found it challenging to get my head around this. Sometimes it seems simple to me, and then I think some more, and I procrastinate. So I bit the bullet and said even if it's not the best Niche, building the site and understanding the process should be good.

I also found researching, especially writing, to be a relatively slow process; hopefully, this will improve with time and practice. It certainly gives you a lot more knowledge about the subject. I remember saying to my grown-up kids what I intended to do. They looked at me with doubt. So hopefully, I can prove them wrong.

I haven't had any success so far, but hopefully, it is early days. And as for plans, it would be to write a couple of articles per week and start the next part of training, and hopefully, it will fall into place.

Off to a great start Brian 🙂

I know what you mean about trynna figure out all the 'techy' stuff, I'm still learning alot, but have full confidence you'll get it and be up & running full steam in no time.

As you mentioned the community here are phenomenal with helping newbies etc, so you're NEVER alone.

All the very best on your continued successes here.

Many thanks, Matty, thanks for the encouraging comments. I think it's starting to come together but sounds like it will be a long haul, learning loads and making new friends.

All the best
Brian

Yea I guess since we are building businesses online etc, it is definitely more of a marathon than a sprint, but the rewards later definitely seem worth putting in all the solid, largely 'unpaid' time and effort now.

All the best, I'll keep an eye out for your updates 🙂

Small steps in the training daily, along with practice, and content writing will get you where oyu wish to be, Brian! An excellent first blog post, indeed! I love the images here too!

Jeff

Many thanks, Jeff, I was a bit slow to get going. You seem to write blogs all the time, well done.
The images are all taken close to where we are staying on Whidbey Island, it's beautiful.
Brian

There is no worries about being slow, Brian! I only wrote 3 short blog posts in the first year and a half of me being in WA! Now, I write all of the time, my friend!

You will start seeing some success now that you have started moving along!

Jeff

Congrats on your first blog post here in Wa Brian and yes it all takes time but as you continue to go forward and have that want to succeed and learn you will do well.
Just keep going forward and always believe in yourself and importantly enjoy all you do.
Take care
Andre

Many thanks, Andre for the words of encouragement.
All the best

Brian

Most welcome Brian
