Your site blog is good between 1000 to 2000 words.
Google likes well-researched content.
Just to be clear, Brian, are you taking about a post on WA or your own website? The answer is different for each.
Hi Brian, my blog posts vary from 1,000 to just over 2,000 words. I'm still slow at writing, and always allow one or more days per post. As long as you cover every point you want to include and you're happy with it, that's fine

Any advice on writing a blog post for wa?

Posts to rank well should be at least 1000 words. When doing wo however, make sure your content relates to your post title.
The Site Content template also gives you an outline for structure.

One way to find ideas for different kinds of content writing, is to do a WA menu bare search (spyglass). How to write a post, how to write content, how to write a review.

Hi not very technical, my son set us up a blog site on WP a year ago, can bring the blog over to a full website at WA and integrate it, or do I need to keep it on WP. seniorcr
Hi
If your site is built on WordPress and has content you need get in touch with site support for further instructions.
They will typically ask you for FTP info and your domain name, they'll set up a siterubix subdomain and upload files then you can check everything is okay before you point your domain to WA servers.

Hope this helps.
WordPress is the platform used to build the site, so you already have a "full" website. And yes, you can move it from wherever it's hosted now to Wealthy Affiliate.
To do this, you have to make a change in the domain name host.
Do you know where the domain name is hosted?
Hi Phil, need to check that out, as my son set it up, but I think is WP itself!
Thanks for getting back so quickly :)
The change you have to make in the domain name host is to the DNS (domain name server). They have to be changed to the ones used by WA. This is fairly easy but is different for different domain name hosts. When we know who it is, we can help with specifics.
Then as a separate issue, you have to back up your existing site, create a new empty site on WA and restore to WA from your backup file.
Who is hosting your site now?
You'll probably need to use a plugin to backup and restore your site. Two popular ones are Updraft and All-in-One WP Migration. You will need to install one of these in the Admin area of your existing website.
But it's essential to change the DNS on your domain name host as quickly as possible, as this change can take something like 24 hours to take effect across the internet. The terms used are "pointing" the DNS to the new host and then "propagating" it.
Thanks, Phil, I have texted my son re: site and hosting. Many thanks for your help, will look up plugins, check everything before moving over. Sorry for non-tec reply. A steep learning curve, hopefully will get easier. All the best
Hi Brian,
You can certainly back up your existing website to a zip file, keeping it on your computer. Just use a free backup plugin.
Then once your domain is transferred to WA, you can upload the file back onto the domain, and your website will be fully migrated.
There are actually many tutorials on YouTube for this, and most likely a lot here on Wealthy Affiliate too.
A few times I have had to do this myself, but since I don't do it enough, I can't remember the steps by memory. Just following a tutorial did the trick.
Does that make sense?
Thanks Natan,
that makes sense, will backup and will check out tutorials.
Many thanks.
Brian
