Hey guys!
I've been digging into my understanding of keywords and such. In the past I've always been directed to the Google Keyword Planner through Google's ad platform f
As Sondra said the Jaxxy tool is simple to use. But when you upgrade to Premium there are advanced features that make it really great. You can watch rankings on your site and do many other site related things.
Google Keyword Planner is another good tool for looking at keywords. I use it to see keywords that people are paying to advertise on. Usually if it has a high click cost then you have found a keyword that people are paying for. I use this in the Jaxxy tool to find even more.
The combination works well.

Awesome Glen!
That's exactly the kind of stuff I was wondering about. I really appreciate your response here!

google keyword planner is set up for advertising -so the competition is nothing to do with the number of sites but the strength of the keyword for advertising.
so any keyword tool that gives you data on how much competiton there is in reality along with figures - rather than googles now vague 10-100 etc- will give more of an indication ( and that is all it is) of what is out there.
google will still use all other 200 plus ranking bits of its algorithm to return the best - in its opinion- result to the query.
the keywords will give you an indication of what your niche are looking for - so you can target your information towards that.
this is just my opinion.

I like that it is super easy to get to Jaaxy from within the WA platform. Thus it saves me time.
