Hi Everyone!

Many of you, including myself, are reeling in because of the impact of Google's latest core update. I think we have a week left to be completed. Hopefully, when they finish it, it might go further than a month; who knows?

I have said that I've avoided checking Google Search Console for traffic. I have continued to write and produce about six articles so far, but I only went into Google Search to index my articles. However, I admit to cheating a little; I couldn't help it. I did check (Sorry, PP).

It does not seem like my traffic is taking a severe dive. It's just slowly going up. The more content I put out there, the better, but quantity shouldn't be the focus. Quality matters! Four were indexed, except for a few that had not yet completed the indexing. I am focusing on creating helpful content. That is challenging, with search engine algorithms constantly evolving.

Lately, I have been working hard behind the scenes, creating content that I hope will only survive and thrive after the core updates. I want to discuss the impact of content creation, adhering to helpful content, as everyone says, tips, and strategies I use to the best of my ability to follow Google guidelines. With that in mind, we shouldn't think about writing for "the search engine."

My content and intent are geared specifically for my target audience; that is who I am writing for, not for Google.

The idea is to focus on your audience, match their needs and wants, and address their pain points. I think Kyle discussed this in one of his videos today.

Impact on Content Creation For Me

The recent Google Core updates have impacted my content creation process. It's no secret that these algorithm changes can shake things up, requiring us to constantly adapt and evolve our strategies. As a content creator, staying informed about these updates is crucial to staying relevant in the digital landscape.

Gone are the days of keyword stuffing and thin, low-value AI-generated articles. Now, it does look like Google prioritizes well-researched, informative, and engaging content that adds value to the reader's experience. I included my experiences and showed my audience proof of how something works with screenshots.

The awareness of the Google Core updates pushes me to elevate my game as a content creator. They force me to be more strategic in my approach, focusing on what my readers need and writing content that meets and exceeds their expectations.

In essence, I feel that navigating these changes requires flexibility and creativity. We should be honest and authentic to ensure our content remains visible and impactful despite Google core updates.

Importance of Adhering to Quality Content

Another thing we need to remember as content creators is that we must always prioritize quality over quantity.

Oh yeah, we have AI Authors who can speed up our content, but hey, wait a minute. We have to take the time to edit and put our writing voice, authenticity, experiences, and perhaps expertise in a niche.

Therefore, writing quality content does matter. Helpful, quality content attracts readers, keeps them engaged, and makes them return for more. It establishes credibility and authority in our niche, setting us apart from competitors.

When creating content, focus on providing value to your audience. Ensure your articles are well-researched, informative, and relevant to your target audience's interests.

Avoid using clickbait headlines or misleading information to drive traffic. I still see some people do that. Tsk tsk. I dont copy them. I know better than that.

We all should adhere to content quality standards to increase our chances of appearing in the SERPs after the Core update. I can see that the SERPs are still saturated with mediocre content, like Reddit.

What Do We Need to Do?

So, we need to stand out, which requires hard work and dedication to produce articles for our target audience consistently. I understand many have done that, yet they get hit with these updates and lose traffic. It happens to us all.

I remain hopeful and focus on people, not search engines. Therefore, quality over quantity should always be your mantra when creating content! That is the lesson I am learning this month with the content on my website.

People first! Got it?

Tips and Strategies for Creating Content And Adjusting to Core Updates

As content creators, adapting to Google Core updates is crucial for maintaining visibility and rankings in search results. Creating high-quality, valuable content that aligns with user search intent is essential to navigate these changes successfully.

One effective strategy is conducting thorough keyword research in Google SERPs (search engine results page).

Another tip is prioritizing user experience by ensuring your website loads quickly, constantly checking your Google Page Speed Insights for mobile, featuring intuitive navigation, and offering a seamless reading experience. I am not perfect at that, but I am learning how to do it and improve myself.

I am learning that consistency is vital. I will continue producing valuable content regularly while monitoring performance metrics to gauge the impact of core updates on my website's visibility.

It's too soon to know. Hopefully, after a week or two, we shall see.

Final Thoughts

The hard work behind creating content goes beyond just writing words on a page; it involves staying informed, understanding user search intent, and continuously refining strategies to meet the demands of Google's core updates.

SERPs changed; LinkedInPulse lost traffic, and "parasite SEOs" disappeared. There is no Medium. Quora and Reddit are still spamming small comments, some 5-10 years old.

To navigate algorithm changes, prioritize quality over quantity, focus on user experience, and implement SEO best practices as content creators.

Let's work hard! As Catherine says, "Work hard like a demon" to create content. With patience and persistence, we can weather any storm with Google's core updates and continue to thrive in the Internet space—if not Google, then social media. I encourage everyone to keep up the hard work behind creating content—it will pay off in the long run.

An excellent piece as always Brenda!

There certainly is a lot more to creating quality content than just writing...

Sounds like you haven't been hit too hard by the recent updates as your traffic is slowly increasing! Great going!

I do check my stats on a daily basis and it is grim reading at the moment, but.... I am seeing some changes!!

I will just continue to knock out quality content for the next month or two, if I don't see any significant improvements then it will be time to diversify a bit!

Thanks for sharing as always my friend and enjoy the rest of your week! :-))

Ok Nick, sounds like a great plan.

Not sure if it's a great plan Brenda, but... it is one I am sticking to for now!

Take care my friend!! :-))

This is an insightful read, Brenda. I am not one of those who checks Google that often. I checked it this morning, and as every other time I checked, my stats are showing a slow, steady rise. I have always gone for quality content, and Google has rewarded me. I started adding tables, charts, and timelines to my posts, and I also used a lot of bullet point lists, which made it seem like Google liked this strategy.

It looks like you are following the correct Google path.

Nancy

Hi Nancy, that is what I need to do: tables and charts. I use bullet points but lots of screenshots that show evidence. I wish I knew how to make videos. I am working on it. Now, I need to get back to my writing. Thanks for stopping by to read. I appreciate your comments. It's slow going for me too.

Quality over quantity, sounds like a plan to me. Thanks, Brenda. All the best.

Hi Brian absolutely true! 👍🏻

🙏🙏

Quality content is now King..Write on...

Hi Brenda

I fully agree! 💯

It’s quality over quantity in everything I do. 😎

Frank 🎸

Hi Frank, I realize that now as I work on my content. I am working hard on that and writing in my voice, showing my experience with evidence.

That’s definitely the way forward, Brenda. 👍👍

Keep up the good work! 😎
