It is Better to Give Than to Receive - Here is Why

I am sure that you have heard of the saying “it is better to give than to receive” and you may be wondering, what does that really mean? Well the answer is quite simple.

When you decide to give and not expect to receive anything in return, you will reap a benefit that you may not know of at that time, but it will come to pass.

By giving something to somebody and not expecting to have that person give you anything in return, this does not mean that you will not receive something.

A BLESSING IN DISGUISE

Many people will attribute the saying “it is better to give than to receive” to what Jesus said in the Bible. You do not have to be religious to understand its meaning.

Here at WA there is a similar saying to “pay it forward” which basically means the same thing. As someone with knowledge you are giving it to others so that they can benefit.

Those who are religious will see it as God giving you a blessing for giving without expecting to receive in return. Those not religious will see it as karma coming back to you.

Regardless of how you see it this also applies to your website niche content. When you give helpful information your readers will respond with more traffic and possibly sales.

The beautiful thing about this helpful information is that it doesn’t even need to include an affiliate link in order for you to make a sale. It will create good karma and trust.

This is the blessing in disguise for it can grow into possible sales and more authority for your website. What goes around comes around. Help others and they will help you.

INFORMATION FOR YOU TO USE

For those of you in the niche of health and wellness or a niche that deals with anxiety, stress, mood, and sleep disorders, this is information for you.

You may want to share this on your website to gain trust among your readers. Matter of fact, this information will help everyone who reads this post.

What I am about to share with you I learned online from a video by Dr. Andrew Weil MD. This information was later backed up by my primary care doctor.

It is a very simple breathing exercise that really does work. Perhaps you have heard of it? It is called the 4-7-8 breathing exercise and it can be done anywhere.

This breathing exercise is really simple to do and it can be completed in about one minute. You have to do it at least twice a day when first trying it.

Dr. Weil says that you may not feel any results the first couple of times you do it but you will and as you continue day by day your health will improve.

SEEING & FEELING IS BELIEVING

Even though I have a lot of knowledge and positive experiences using plant-based medicine and other natural treatments I never tried other alternatives.

I was a bit skeptical at first but I decided to try it because of its simplicity. What's the worse thing that could happen? So it wouldn't work. To my surprise it did work!

I did the the exercise in the morning of a day that was going to be a stressful travel day. The morning wasn't as stressful but that was because plans changed.

Then that night I did it again right as I was about to go to sleep. I fell asleep pretty quick. Maybe I was more tired than I thought. But then this happened.

The following night I woke up in the middle of the night because of a health emergency with a neighbor. Twenty minutes later I couldn't go back to sleep.

So I did the 4-7-8 breathing exercise and within minutes I was asleep. I have been doing this every night as soon as I lay down to sleep and I have no problems.

IF IT DID NOT WORK I WOULD NOT SHARE

I thought to myself, this is great! Anyone who may have trouble falling asleep or that deals with stressful situations can benefit from this.

In fact everyone can benefit from this simple exercise. Who doesn't experience stress and/or anxiert at some point in their lives? So I thought I would share this with you all.

If it didn't work for me I wouldn't share this info. As it turns out this exercise seems to work for several other people I personally know, and my doctor does this too.

So if you have a website in the niche of natural health, fitness, anxiety, stress or sleep disorders, try the exercise for yourself and then write a blog about it.

Below is the link to the YouTube video where Dr. Andrew Weil M.D. demonstrates how to do the exercise, how many times to do it, and what benefits it gives.

I hope this helps all of you who try it and remember you have to do it twice a day every day. It is quick and simple to do. If you have any questions or comments leave them below.

Hey Boomer!
Good to see ya. You haven't changed (LoL -glasses profile shot) which tells me consistency is key.
What goes around comes around or seed time harvest time & we all reap what ever we sow / say / do. I mean this WA business does not simply happen without . . .
Yea, I can REALLY use the sleep. And I definately need to work out way more. This breathing technique reads like it's gonna spark-up my apathetically developed (shallow?) breathing. Haven't been near nor doing hard labor for a year now, so yea. Best I give this an implemented consistent doing. Thanks for the post & lead / link & for being the Boomer.

Thanks Rob, anything to help me fall asleep and lower the anxiety levels we all can occasionally feel has to be good.

I am going to watch the video tonight and see what it does for me. I will let you know how it works out for me.

I wish you the best!

Bob

You are welcome Bob. Try it for a few straight days and see what happens.

Robert, great post. You have laid out the benefits of giving. In the online world. A new business online needs to build “trust” and giving is a way to engage that build relationships.

However, like everything else, the intent or reason behind the giving is also important. That may explain the purpose of the giving and can also be exploited in a negative manner.

- Stanley

Anything can be exploited for negative purposes but when something is given without negative intentions it can produce positive results.
