When I write a post there is a default image that appears on the page and I cant
Where on the page does it appear - is it within the post, in the header, sidebar, or in a slider, or plugin, or footer, etc?
How to go about changing it depends on where it is located on the page or in the theme.

The image in question appears within individual posts. so I create new post and type in my blurb, I can add a featured image which visitors can see on home page but when you physically click on post to read the article the offending image is displayed full width of screen in the header area.
Hope this makes sense !?!?

Hi so yesterday I spent some time faffing around with the google adsense plugin which will not verify that I own my website even though I have been into Webmaster tools and manuall
It's normal to have the white space in the widget till Google populates it. Don't click on your own link Adsense can ban you for this. What is your URL and I'll click it and see what happens.
Hang in there Bob, try removing and adding your widgets and code again. Did google approve your application?
Yeah Im all approved and verified champion.
Thing is I don't know what to expect visually on screen it may be that Im just waiting for google to populate ?? I can see the Widget as Ive placed a heading so I can mark it but then underneath its just white space ??
Is this normal ??
Ive played with the code and managed to get an error Page Not Found visual where Im assuming the ads should be.

Hi Bobby,
Do not use the plugins, there are some buggy ones around. At least some themes are not playing nice with them.
Try first the simple way and copy the code chunk given by Google Adsense and paste in to a text widget. Based on your theme you can decide the loction of text widget. Or paste it part of your post text in "text mode", not "visual mode". That should work for any theme.

I started with a plugin then realised I didn't need it once I had learnt how to add the code direct, it's much easier. Let me know if you need help if you want to do this. :)
Go to appearance - widgets. Scroll down and on your left you'll see the "text" widget. Depending on your theme the drop down menu is where you choose the placement, it should say "right sidebar" or something like that.
Click add
You'll now have a text widget on the right. Paste your Adsense code into the box like this http://screencast.com/t/PHp6oN35yim
Save
Initially, you'll only see a blank square till Google populates the space with an ad.

It was annoying, I searched for answers high and low, got fed up trying, decided I could use my time better!
Yeah Ive set a meta tag to manually verify with Webmaster tools added my gmail account as a new user and deleted and reinstalled the plug in and still says no.....................
