eliminate the distraction
Like most IM markeker here, I do the IM after the daily work, unfortunately,I found the time easily slipped with no work done.
We all hear a lot of this: internet is good , the advantage you can do anything, internet is bad, the disadvantage is you can do anything. It remind us if you don't control yourself well, surfing internet instead of doing the IM work can be a big time killer.
I did not find a cure to this problem. but think it is better create a task list for daily basis, so get a focus to do the work that need to do.
Of course , the distraction not limit to the surfing internet. but I believe it is big one for IMer.

I give myself a time limit on less important tasks and even then only do that after the important tasks are completed. Takes discipline but helps.
I put £$£$£ on a sticky note- and put the tasks on there that I know will drive me towards cash...and the supporting tasks seem to better take care of themselves as I am clearer about the pay off. Mind you I have only just started this, and need to keep it up! LOL, Andy
