AMAZON - 90 days only access.
We all know that Amazon.com is one of THE biggest affiliate programs out there, don't we? We have all at one point applied to be part of their affiliate program. Some get rejected outright, I got accepted by .com but .uk said no,no, sorry but we can't accept your application. No reason supplied.
Now that is not the issue that's worrying me here. I got an email today from the 'associates' program informing me that when I joined, I was given 90 days access to the program. Now that is something that I didn't take note of, my own fault I know. And that they notice that I haven't made any sales yet. Should this trend continue, they will close my account after the 90 days are up.
So hopefully I will get some sales before 5 March!
A hint to all the newbies out there that are anxious to apply to Amazon, wait a bit until you start seeing a steady flow of traffic to your site. You could of course be one of the lucky few who will get a sale from one of your first visitors, but you could also find yourself in the cold outside before making a dime!
On the other hand though, there are many other affiliate programs out there that are too happy to have you, without placing time constraints on your money making efforts.
Happy marketing!
Lydia.

I'm betting this is state dependent. State sales taxes dictate if Amazon can provide these opportunities, it at all.
Yes, I applied to amazon and was not accepted by UK because my site wasn't finished but i was accepted by US and ES and some others. Make sure your site is up and running to a large extent before you apply.
Hi Craig, I was accepted by US, CANADA and ES, just not UK. Maybe my site wasn't quite ready in their eyes yet. I will try again.
Thanks for the heads up. I am with Amazon and so far haven't heard anything as yet. Never know when the ax may fall......Frank
Hi Frank, I'm about halfway into my 90 days. Not sure if they follow the same route with everyone. Have you had amazon clicks from visitors to your site yet?
Hi Lydia, it is a useful piece of information. What if I have already signed up? I am still on the learning track.
No problem if you have signed up. Get your links on your site, keep adding quality content, share your posts on G+ and Facebook, Twitter etc, and you will start getting traffic, and sales will follow.
The good news is that even if they close your account, you can always apply again at a later date.
Good luck!
I don't think you need sales. Just have a link on your site or something. I think they just want some kind of activity.
