I've been here at WA now for eight months, and I can't begin to put into words what it's meant to me. From ignorant to informed. What I knew about computers and the internet was dangerous! My knowledge was limited to sending emails and browsing the net. I didn't even know how to copy and paste! Now I have my own website with various posts and pages ranking very well in Google. I understand how Google operates, well sometimes at least! I've learnt a lot about WordPress, how to place images and h
When I logged in today, I found that I've reached 1K followers! All those people following and watching me as I try to build a successful business! Now I have no idea whatsoever why anyone would be following me, as: 1) I haven't created any training 2) I am not highly ranked here 3) I don't write posts very often So this is just to say thank you to all of you who are interested in my progress, and also a big thank you for all the encouragement and support over the last nearly eight months! It'

So almost exactly seven months into WA, I joined on 5 Oct 2013, I have had my very first referral! I haven't been spending much time on building my site lately, as so many orders have been rolling in for homemade meat pies, pickles, jams and biscuits, that I have been totally whacked by 11 at night. I am not sure where this referral came from, I must really add tracking to my links, but I have been sharing WA posts on Twitter an FB between rolling out pastry and stirring jam. Oh, and raising Tw
The other day a new member asked whether it's ok to repin one of your own pins, as long as it's not on the same day. In my ignorance I answered that I didn't think it would serve any purpose. Well, it turns out, according to Colleen Corkery, in her post ' 3 Steps to Build an Email list with Pinterest', that you can do it very successfully. Use your most popular pin and repin it once a week after deleting the previous one. Remember to add a link to your site in the caption. Don't have boards wit
First of all, I want to say thank you to each and everyone that took the time to visit my site and leave a comment. The draw has taken place and I am excited to announce the winner. After a lot of thought and even more advice and suggestions from WA friends, thanks Beverley, I finally took the plunge and changed the old for a new one! I went from Liqorice to Twenty Thirteen, thanks Carson! So the changes took some time to complete and update and are now ready for inspection. Will anyone that has some time please, please have a look around and tell me what you think. And you really don't have to use the sandwich method, I can take the punch!LOL! If you would like to connect
Kyle and Carson have taught us all we need to know about this topic. Creating fresh content, engaging your audience, adding new posts on a regular basis, and much more. Here are some stats and info just to remind us how important these lessons are. What are your thoughts? Lydia.
After seeing a lot of questions asked about finding free images, I came across this blog and decided to share it with you. It's very important to make sure that your images are not copyrighted. The fines can be extremely high! http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2289302/How-to-Find-Free-Images-With-Googles-Advanced-Image-Search Hope it helps! Lydia.
How often have you heard this saying. Honestly, to me it sometimes just didn't make sense. But I have learnt here at WA that the more simple you keep things, the better. And less confusing. I wanted to share this blog that I've just read, ' How reducing your options can increase your conversions'. Now, I'm not making any money yet, but this will surely help me as I go forward. What do you think? Lydia.
