Hi, I just made an Blog on how to do this.

If you don't hear from anyone soon, ask your question in the Live Chat, you'll get a captive audience there. I can't help you, because I have no clue. Someone within WA will have an answer for you, just keep asking =)

Hello Fellow Entrepreneurs!

I am trying to put to use the subdomain feature, however I'm a little confused how to format a subdomain. Also, how many subdomains can we atta

Hi Phyllis.

You can have as many subdomains as you like, attached to any domain you have registered, and pointed to WA.

To add a subdomain - then follow this screenshot:

http://d.pr/i/wBbC

1. Click on Build My Website
2. Click on Domains
3. Click on the Add Subdomain tab
4. enter the name for the Subdomain (eg. could be secure, forum, members etc)
5. select the domain name you want to attach it to
6. Click on the Create button

That will then create a new "website" in your Websites list.

A subdomain of a website is effectively a completely separate website - just using the main domain name.

You can install completely different themes and plugins on any subdomain - it really is nothing to do with the main domain website, other than sharing part of the domain name.

So you could have:

http://mymaindomain.com - and have your about me, privacy etc (as an example)
http://shop.mymaindomain.com - and have your storefront on this
http://members.mymaindomain.com - and have a members only area

These could all be completely different sites, themes etc.

When you say: And the sd doesn't seem to have access to my main domain.

Do you mean your domain is not appearing in the drop down list yet? Have you changed the name servers to point to WA hosting, in the control panel of where you registered the domain name?

I hope this helps Phyllis,

All the best, Mark

Hi Phyllis…Good question. I'll have to stay tuned for a knowledgable answer!
