Setting up a static landing page.
Hello everyone.
I was trying to figure out how to make my site's Home page static landing page and send my blog posts to a Blog section of my site. The Home page did not appear in WP Page Editor. I was considering trying to change a theme but finally I've got it.
- Dashboard -> Appearance-> Themes
- Select your active theme and click Customize
- Select "Static Front page"
- Under "Front Page Displays" select "A Static Page"
- Under "Front Page" select the page you want to become your Front Page
- Under "Posts Page" select the one you want your posts to go to.
- Save it!
This how it worked for Forestly theme. Your particular theme may have a somewhat different options but the other themes I've checked shown similar settings.
Thank you!

Hi,
Trying to set my home page as a static page.
How do you choose Home if it doesn't show it in the options?
Hi - I am using a static page as I like it best but Kyle had told me that Google prefers a blog roll as it sees the changes daily and so you will get ranked quicker - Now this is something that I find great input from Kyle but I am moving up the ranks slowly so I thought that I will see how it goes but just thought I would share with you - best regards Paul
Thanks, Paul. that's a good point. I will appreciate if you share your observations with me. Also- is it possible to insert a small section to the static Front page with a short excerpt from the most recent blog to keep static page updated?
