A very nice gentlement from Publishers Clearing House called me tonight and congratualated me on winning a $5,000,000 prize. All I had to do was pay the taxes which would be only 1% of the prize. I was to send a check for $50,000 to a PO Box in Las Vegas. The call was from Jamaca. I hung up and he called me right back two times. On the third time I called him a few choice names and he finally got the message.

One of the troubles in the world are people without values. Anything for a buck.

One of the things that makes WA so great is the helpful people in this community. No scams here. Occassional a SPAMer slips through, but they are removed quickly and everyone in our community has zero tolerance for SPAM.

I post this as a warning and also to let new members who might still not fully trust WA know that you are in the best affiliate marketing support community on the internet. No upsells, outstanding training, unparraleled support and the best managed hosting available anywhere, Our leaders are mentors to anyone who asks for their help.

I work hard to help where I can and where I cannot help I am very careful not to hurt. I searched for the scam in WA for 6 monthss before I decided I could recommend the program. Since then I have learned so much and have never been disappointed.

I actually did win a prize from Publisher's Clearinghouse once upon a time. This, of course, was back before the internet.
We did receive a nice Sony TV though. There was one problem, I got a hernia trying to move it as it was a big screen (Big in those days was 36 inch) and it was a CRT. It weighed about 200 pounds.
Fortunately, the doctor was able to put my insides right again.

They called us to confirm delivery and we had to fill out an affidavit of some kind as I recall. There was no mention of Taxes.

That’s great. Our first TV was in a big cabinet and had an 18 inch screen. Needed a hand truck to move it. This was obviously a Publishers Clearing House fake.

Wish there was a way to put these scammers away for a while. They don’t care who they hurt.

Hi Bill, when I get calls like that, I tell them "thank you very much but I could not accept any more money from your company. Your company has been so kind to me giving me so much money. I already paid the tax money and received my millions in my bank account last week. Thank you once again - Goodbye!"
Most often it stumps them and they are dumbfounded....

I've been a premium member at WA for going on 5 years now and todate, not a hint of a scam or anything illegal or untrustworthy.

Like Kyle says never do anything to lose the trust of your audience.

Well the few choice words you called him. He deserved it. I would never be able to sleep at night if I was to do this to people. I my conscience would drive me nuts. It is sad , but I guess it takes all kinds of people to make this world go flat. LOL!!!

That's great that you knew what was going on and didn't fall for that scam.

I played along with him for a half hour just to see where he was going. It took him that long to get to the pay the taxes scam. We had even made an appointment for them to come to my house to deliver my prize. Ha!

You were wise but I feel for all of those elderly people who fall for these scams. I was scammed once but fortunately, I didn't lose anything except I did suffer great humiliation. Since then, I am skeptical of nearly everything, therefore I check things out thoroughly.

Lol.... they're a busy lot......sad too many fall for such scams....

Good post Bill.

The majority of the time I let calls from numbers I do not recognize go right into my voice mail. The majority of times a message is not left, which tells me the call was just someone trying to sell me something.

Like you said, anything for a buck. Unfortunately that is the world we live in nowadays. Even things that happen in our daily lives that we pay high prices for yet only costs the manufacturers pennies to make. Too much greed in this world.

I always look to you for guidance Boomer. Thanks for all your help. I have fallen for a lot of shiny object scams over the years.

You are welcome and I have fallen for some shiny objects too. Thank God WA is not one of them. No scams here!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I was wondering about that when I saw the title of your blog. So glad to have people like you who are able to recognize those scams right away.

Well said, Bill, we've got it pretty good here at WA.

Hi Bill, I second everything you said.
