What a common talk (or reading for that matter) everywhere, anywhere as we close one year and open the next one. But how well do we follow our goals? Or do they just remain dreams that need to be awakened year after year after year?
If you count the chapters of your life in terms of new years, 2015 is closing and it's about time to look back and reflect on what we have or have not accomplished. Then open the new year with health-related resolutions.
Oh, 'Eat healthier and be in good shape!' This is quite a struggle for many!
Or 'No more fatty foods but get more exercise!' But it is real hard!
A lot of challenges have come our way that hindered us from reaching our goals for the year. There were set backs that prevented us from living our lives to the fullest much more from achieving our goals.
Make 2016 your healthiest year ever! This is not just all about physical health. Consider our whole being in the process of making resolutions for the coming year and the years to come! It's all about maintaining a healthy living. I believe we have the power to shape it!
Tip #1 Maintain a healthy body.
Health is indeed wealth! For some it is seeing a smaller number on the weighing scale. For others, it is necessary to go for the yearly medical check-up. While others it is simply maintaining what they have already achieved.
We gotta do what we have to do to maintain a healthy physique. Eat nutritious foods and exercise. While it varies from person to person, research, know, and practice the best approach that your body responds to. Investigate and explore your health options. Do what is best for you!
Tip #2 Maintain a healthy emotion.
We all go through hardships, fatigue, stress, pains, mood swings, fears ~all these affect our emotions. These are problems that cause us to fail.
I am not an expert. But based on my experiences, switching perspectives can make a big difference in the way we live. I look at problems as challenges that I can overcome, which help me develop the will power to go beyond my circumstances and control my emotions. It's a skill that can be acquired by constantly reminding ourselves that we can do it!
The best weapon I ever have is prayer. My faith dictates that God is my help in times of trouble; He is my refuge in times of storms! He is greater than any of my problems and He is the Mighty Being who enables me to overcome every challenges that come my way!If others can do it, then I can do it! You can do it; together we can do it!
Tip #3 Maintain a healthy mind.
Our mental well-being impacts the quality of our living. It affects relationships and emotions.
De-stressing is extremely beneficial to maintaining good mental health. Even the Bible encourages us to meditate day and night.
Get enough sleep. I have observed that I am more effective in anything that I do when I am not sleepy. I would say that sleep can impact our ability to work well. Some experts say that lack of sleep can even increase the risk for Alzheimer's disease or other brain issues.
Develop hobbies or creative activities that you can learn and have fun with. I love arts and crafts. That's what I do. As a teacher, I create arts, crafts, and develop math games that I can use in the classroom. This way, I am already educating myself while creating activities that will educate my students in math.
You have survived 2015. Make 2016 a new beginning for the best life ever!
