UPDATE 30TH NOVEMBER
Quick addition to this update, my affiliate links have been live for 7 days and I have sold a total of 9 items through Amazon, 6 have been shipped, so I'm just waiting for the others to ship so I can get commission.
I also made my canonical change and it has worked. Google now has the correct KW associated with my desired page and that page has jumped 42 positions to page 1.
My target keyword ranking has improved. I am now position 13 so the growth has been 1 position per day.
Finished my last pillar article. Just needs a bit of formatting for conversions. Will be published soon.
I haven't created anymore content and ranking continues to improve.
Just a quick blog post update about a recent niche project detailed here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/beauandnik/blog/ne...
Here is a list of the things I had to do:
- Maintain a regular 1x week posting schedule
- Build out more branded profile backlinks
- Create YouTube videos to rank for the exact terms im using in my posts
- Embed these videos within my posts
- Get a link on wikipedia
- Guest blogging
- Write an ebook to create another revenue stream and gather more leads.
Here is what got done:
- Failed - too much on the go so never got round to posting
- Failed - see above
- Failed - see above
- Failed - see above
- Failed - see above
- Failed - see above
- Failed - see above
HAHAHAHAHA!
Rankings have continued to improve. Page 1 between position 1 to 5 for all of my money keywords except 1, which is ranked 15. I know what I need to do for that.. More content!
I put my ability to rank fast and push authorities off the page due to my on-page SEO. I have a specific process that has just been validated by this test. I have not done any blackhat link building or anything.
Something I have noticed is that Google thinks it should rank one of my articles for a certain term I'm targeting. Unfortunately, this is the wrong article so I will do a canonical on the current ranked post, directing Google to the post I want ranked.
I need to finish one more money post to complete the "pillars" of my site. I just haven't had the time to do this but will get it done ASAP.
I also added my affiliate links to my money pages and within 24 hours I have made a sale. Commission = $0.98 from Amazon. Its small but it can only grow from there. The site doesn't owe me much money so I can tell it will pay for itself soon enough.
List of tasks to be completed:
- Finish Last pillar article [COMPLETE]
- Add retargeting pixels
- Add CTA popups
- Promote FB group, grow to 1000 likes
- Post content to FB group 2x per week
- Reach out to other's in my industry to connect
- Maintain a regular 1x week posting schedule
- **Build out more branded profile backlinks
- Create YouTube videos to rank for the exact terms im using in my posts
- Embed these videos within my posts
- **Get a link on wikipedia
- **Guest blogging
- Write an ebook to create another revenue stream and gather more leads.
**Might not be needed if ranking continues to improve**
- Bounce rate = 3.49%
- Pages per session = 2.92
- Average session = 2 minutes 6 seconds
- New sessions = 75.59%
- Organic Traffic = 70.5%
- Social Traffic = 5.2%
- CTR = 6.15%
- Queries = 209

This is brilliant, congrats on the sale I'm sure that will grow and grow.
Love how you was on honest with the fail fail fail bit.
"fail your way to success"
Cheers man. Honestly, failing seems to be a common thing LOL... the main thing is that we are aware of it and what caused it so we can do our best to avoid it.
Greetings,
I was just cleaning up my email, and decided to check you out to see what's new.
I like your thoroughness in writing your tasks, or rather, you are very specific. You are indirectly challenging me, so, thank you.
A social profile with a link back to your site is a "backlink".. These are safe to use and don't violate Googles T's & C's. This is what you would call "white / grey hat" link building.
Getting a link on wiki I can't discuss for 2 reasons.
Some would see this as blackhat which is a violation of Googles T's & C's so must be used at your own risk.. That risk being penalized by Google and losing all rank for your site and any site you own that is associated with the offending site.
The next reason being by sharing what I do helps build competition against me. I like to have an edge. A silver bullet that I can fire to beat the competition again. I have many silver bullets that suit different situations.
Haha. Ok..thanks Beau..I'll delve a little deeper into the world of google to try to find some additional info. I won't be firing any silver bullets though....the price of silver is to high right now. i would have to run after the bullets after i shot them lol.
Thanks for the post Beau. I should really do some of these for my bootcamp site. Getting into local marketing has really hurt my time management. There are the branded profile links again!
It's pretty incredible how your on-page SEO gets you that high that fast without blackhat techniques. Imma continue paying attention to this site of yours. I don't have a non-bootcamp site yet, so seeing your process is a great guideline. It's interesting how you can use Wiki for a link. Isn't that kinda biased, or do you make sure it's absolutely relevant?
Thanks for the kind words mate :)
Time management is crucial. Sometimes I manage, clearly, as stated above I dropped the ball LOL. What matters is that we identify why the ball was dropped and pick it up again.
Wiki is powerful. We all know that so we generally link out to them. Big power can happen when you get linked out by them as an authority. Only the most relevant content has the longevity.

Hey Beau, just a quick question here. If you did a canonical on the currently ranked post directing Google to the post you want ranked, wouldn't that affect your ranking for the keywords you were targeting on this currently ranked post?
I know you wrote a post targeting a certain term and Google has picked up the wrong post. My feeling is a canonical might fix things for this certain term but it might hurt things for the term you were targeting with the post that is currently ranked.
Lol I wrote a lot more than I wanted to...I hope it all makes sense to you.
Hey brother, the only reason why Google has attached this post to my target keyword is because the content is too closely related.
In other words, I cannibalized the niche trying to spread content horizontally opposed to vertically if that makes sense.
I really should of put the content from the current ranked article in the actual article I wanted to rank.
So in that regard, if I lose ranking for this post it really wont matter much in the scheme of things.
Cheers for asking!
