Is Twitter Facebook Instagram and widgets that are installed on your website page considered plugins? I'm just trying to grasp the true meaning of the word so that when I hear

No. Plugins are little bits of software code that are installed in your Wordpress dashboard. They add functionality onto your site. Plugins are one of the greatest features of Wordpress because you can transform your site to better suit the business you're building with plugins. The uses range from speed to accepting payment and many things in between.

Ok. Thank you thank you!

Another question, the headers that I created on my about me page I do not see them published on the actual website but i see them in my site content/ editor. Why is that? How can i make sure everything i create in site editor shows up when published?

No. Widgets is a space along the sides or bottom of your website. You can insert various different things there like social media like buttons, social media themes, author boxes, recent posts, and more.

Plugins change the functionality of the site in some way. For example, if you're site is loading slow, you can install a plugin that would help the processing of images and make it load faster, or you can add a plugin to make a blog website turn into an e-commerce website. There are many other things you can do with plugins in addition to those examples.

Can you send me your website so I can have a look at what you mean? You can private message me.

Are you saying you've created headers inside of Wordpress and they're not showing up? Are they in your headers widget area or are you editting the code?

Idk good question.

I see your website and the header area says "Golf everything", "One stop shop..." then you also have your menu there. What did you want there?

Ok. I may be using the wrong terminology but there was supposed to be titles above each talking point on my about me page. For example, where i said "it was the summer of 2005", there's suppose to be a title in bold letters above that paragraph that reads" Where it all began". I see it when im in the Site content/editor window, (wordpress window im not sure) but when i go to preview the published version i dont see it.

You're right. I don't see that heading. Can you delete it and re-add it as a H2 header? If you've played with it, and you're not seeing the title you want, you can add me to your Wordpress as a user and I can take a look. I can't tell without being logged on why you're not seeing that title.

How do i add you as a user?

I sent the info to you via private message

A plug in is an add on to your theme. It's code that will allow you to do something you weren't capable of doing unless you learned how to code and wrote your own.

Remember that you can add new plugins or change existing ones the same way as you do with a theme. There are millions of them out there so be sure to research any that you want to use to be certain it's not going to harm your website.

Okay thanks and also when they use the word widget is that considered a plug-in as well?

No, a widget is a "place" where you can insert some type of content, ad, code, script, an image or video. So, if you have a bunch of widgets, you will be able to place things in all sorts of different spots such as your footer, sidebar, above the content area, below the content area, and much more.

Plugin = A function
Widget = A place for different content

Okay okay okay cool beans bro! I appreciate that makes a lot of sense now! It's a lot for your help

I mean thanks a lot for your help
