What is your "Why"
Hey guys,
just wanted to drop a quick note on something that will mean the difference between pushing through to success or quitting. Motivation and blind determination will only carry you so far. Of course some have more of a capacity than others to push through, however there is one thing that will carry you through even the darkest of times.
If you haven't already done this, then i suggest you take these steps.
Step 1. Why do you want to make money online?
While the first answer that comes to mind maybe what prompted you to dive into the internet marketing world, you need to dig deeper. What is the Why behind the Why. For example what will making money online get you and why is that important. For some it maybe something like being able to stop working as much and spend more quality time with their family or provide a better quality of life for your family.
Step 2. Create a crystal clear image of your Why
Now that you have the Why, now its time to create a clear picture of what it will look like when your why is accomplished. If it's to provide a better quality of life for your family be specific. Does this mean taking them on a vacation every year. If so, where will you go on vacation and what will you be doing on this vacation. The clearer image you have of your why the easier it will be to remind yourself of this during the dark times.
Step 3. Expect the best, be prepared for the worst.
Life happens and success is never convenient. You get exactly what you focus on. This is why you need to focus on the best possible outcome. I'm not saying that to expect a bed of roses, rather have a plan for when things don't go exactly as planned. My business partner's dad has this saying that I originally thought was ridiculous at first but after taking a moment to process the meaning it is actually quite profound.
Everything will be great in the end. If it's not OK its not the end.
My business partner Dan did add something colorful at the end which goes like this.
If its not OK its not the end... so keep going (female dog).
I want to keep my posts clean but i think you get the idea.
Step 4. Raise your sails to new horizons
Once you accomplish your Why raise the bar and repeat the process. Don't rest on your laurels. Press on to new heights!

Very thought provoking! I hope this helps many people. I've already gone through this process, so it's just WHEN? for me! Thanks again!
Thanks Barry, Can you explain the connection between my WHY and the NICHE I am trying to figure out. Then based on that comes the content. My understanding is that I create content to my NICHE (which i think is same as AVATAR?), touching on their needs/pain points etc
I am only up to Get Started Course 1, Lesson 3 Niche
not a problem John. Your Why is simple. Why are you trying to make money on line. In other words what is your driving purpose.
Your Niche is the topic you have chosen for a group of people that is interested in that topic.
Your Avatar is the ideal candidate that would be interested in your niche content.
For example. You are trying to make money online so you can get your dream car which is a 1969 Shelby GT Mustang.
Your niche is little league baseball bats.
Your Avatar or straw customer would be parents of children that are in little league.
make sense?
Thanks coach Barry, so this is my approach:
I'm working on my WHY (purpose) -> CONTENT (i'm passionate about) -> AVATAR (identify their pain points) -> NICHE
As Lesson 3 on Niche says "Your niche could be anything, but at the core of your niche selection it should be something that you "like". Something you enjoy. Something you can talk about. Something you want to learn about."
This is why I'm starting with my WHY, taking me a bit of time, but I feel the journey and outcome will be growth and ultimately income, but also service to my niche. Feel free to offer comments or advice so I don't get stuck on this NICHE step.
***(so far about 1.5-2 hours/day which is what I have, taken about 6 days so far, but documenting WHY currently, will finish today!!)
Thank you
Barry, your explanation and examples makes more sense than I've heard before about this. We should get you to do the Glossary! ;-) This now seems so clear. Thank you!
The ones you supplied to "John32B" was very helpful, I will tap your wisdom as I come across others that are not as clear! ;-) I'm blank at the moment. ;-) LOL!

very inspirational Barry! Thanks for the motivation and the reminder. I started following Simon Sinek (Start With Why) recently and I'm planning on doing an article on him soon for my website geared towards networking aspiring Spiritual Entrepreneurs with their mentors. Keep it up and I might have to interview you! :)
