Amazon's Exceptional Live Chat Line!
I have just had the most unbelievable experience with the Amazon Live Chat.
I'll place the entire conversation here for you to decide;
You are now connected to Pamela from Associate Support.
Pamela: Hello, my name is Pamela. I'm here to help you today.
Me: Hello Pamela
Me: Some years ago 2015 or 2016 my email service provider stopped offering an e-mail service.
Me: Since then my previous email address of sosrentals@ihug.co.nz has been defunct.
Me: I have tried on several occasions over the years to change my primary e-mail address with no joy.
Me: sosrentals@ihug.co.nz also happens to be my log in name.
Me: How do I change this please?
Pamela: Hello, hope you are doing well today. You would go on the associate's home page, on the top far right it will show your email, click on the icon, and then click on Account Settings you should be able to update it there.
Me: I have tried that a zillion times and it has never worked.
Me: I have the same problem at Amazon UK where I can no longer log on because they sent me a OTP to an e-mail address which does not exist
Pamela: One moment please while I look into this for you.
Me: I have two new e-mail addresses in there under "pending" - they have been there for months
Pamela: What email do you want to change it to?
Me: And I'd like that to be my log in name too please with the current password
Pamela: You can go to amazon.com and go to log and security and update the email there.
Me: Log and Security?
Pamela: Yes, you would go to your account on amazon.com and go to Log in and Security and you can update it there.
Me: Hang on
Pamela: Would you like me to send you a direct link to that.
Me: Yes please
Pamela: Sure that will be no problem at all. Is there anything else I can assist with today?
Me: Yes please - how do I go about doing the same with my UK account which I am now unable to log into due to not being able to respond to the OTP email they sent me?
Pamela: You would actually have to contact them, I can only send info from amazon.com
Me: So there is no way I can ever get in there again unless I open a new account?
Pamela: You can contact UK's customer service and they would be able to assist you with that. If they can't, I would recommend you to do that.
Me: OK - send me that link please
Pamela: Sure, will do. You have a great rest of your day!

Sigh! That is so frustrating. I have similar problems at times, and they make me crazy. Does everyone have beans in their ears? Hope you get things straightened out.
I did thanks Fran - went back and the next person knew what he was on about and we got it sorted in both countries.
Easy when you know how.
