Is this possible if the co-author is not a WA member.? I have developed writers bock and am considering having other people contribute to my site.

Thanks

Thank you all for the responses. Very helpful.
Can I have a co-author who is not a subscribed WA member on a WA hosted website is more what I’m asking.

One who gets credit for his writings and is not a ghostwriter? And someone whom doesn’t necessarily have a website of their own but wants to help me develop mine (with content). Maybe a co-owner?

Hi - you can add a new user to your site, but make sure you only give them access as an Author or Contributor, not an Admin.

I am not sure how your idea would work. What would be the benefit of someone writing for your site without being paid or without using the opportunity to drive traffic to their own website?

Having a co-owner could lead to some disagreement. You would need a legal contract to state exactly what they could expect to gain from the business.

A share of the profits? If so, how much? Are they just writing content or playing a part in the design and development? What exactly would your own role be? How are you yourself contributing towards whether the site is successful or not? It wouldn't be easy, as you can see.

Yes, You can create as many extra users for your website as you please.

If you know someone willing to write content for your website, you can make them an account for them to log in to and upload content.

It doesn't matter if they are on WA or not.

Aha, thanks Mark. How do I make this account? Is there a resource you can point me to?

Thanks everyone for all the advice on the logistics of it. I see that I need to think some more. However, right now I need to know the “how of it.

Sure, Log in to your website and go to the wordpress menu "users" then click "add new user"

Give the user a name and add the role of Author to it

Then go to Wealthy affiliate and click websites on the right hand menu.

Select Site manager and find your website.

Click refresh and then Log In

You should now see the new user created. Click synchronize to see the password that was generated for that account and give it to the person who will write your content.

To log in to your website they will need to visit http://yoursite.com/wp-admin (or https:// if you have ssl enabled)

They can then log in with the username and password that you made for them.

To see a video on how to make a new user, check out the training video that Kyle made: Hope this helps.

Here a a couple of good answers, but as said, you need some good content on your site as well! It might be a slow process but you will get there!

Jeff

Hi - it depends what you mean by "co-author". Do you mean you want somebody to guest post on your site for free? If that's the case, they will need to know that your site has good traffic and authority, so that they actually gain something by writing for you. And typically, you would write a guest post for them in return.

Or do you mean you want to hire a ghostwriter? Do be aware that this can be an expensive route to take. A good writer can easily cost $50 per 1000 words.

It is totally possible and even recommended to co-author with other content creators.

I have done so myself many times.

Before you do, you should have a clear understanding on what Niche you are in and have a decent amount of content already posted on your website. (if you haven't reached this point then please continue your training as this will help you more in the long run)

To find people to work with, try joining a few groups on Facebook and get involved with some of the discussions taking place. Be an active contributor for a little while and then reach out to the owner via email or messenger.

If you can offer someone else value, via the law of reciprocity, they will be very likely to do the same for you.

You still own your domain until it expires. Beware of the upgrades and upsells and add ons with those outside of WA.

WA might seem a bit more expensive by a $1 or 2 than others but just you wait until final check out price or renewals.

Thanks all for your answers. What I'm getting is there is buying a domain name and hosting. Still new to all this but I'm sure it will become clearer as I go along

I am not sure what happens if you do not become premium? I made myself pay the year. it helps me commit during the tough times. Cause there are some. But everyone will help youo

Hi Bafuna, what I have found is that buying your domain name from WA is cost effect. Other domain names often go up every year that you have them, WA's cost remains the same. If you are a premium member you may as well use everything they offer, or it will end up costing you more in the long run, just my opinion. If you stop your WA premium membership, there is no refund, and you will have a certain time to transfer your website and domain name to another site. Hope this helps.

yes, you can. I purchased mine at go daddy and then just moved it here
