What's the difference between a Funnel and an autoresponder?

Hi my lovely WA family!

I'm wondering if some of our most experienced helpers can give me some illumination.

When I was looking for a business on the internet about 12 months ago I came across Clickfunnels etc but decided to learn how to create a website first myself. Now that I'm a long way down in creating my website I am wondering what is the difference between creating a landing page in my autoresponder as a funnel or should I look again at an outside funnel creator?

What is the difference between a funnel and just a lead magnet to a landing page?

Are they the same?

I really hope you can help.

Hugs

Lily

An auto responder will store all your email contacts for a mass e-mail response to your recipients. A funnel will also store all your e-mail addresses as they sign up for whatever you are offering, but will not be able to send mass e-mail to your recipients. Simply put, they both are beneficial in storing e-mail addresses but not mass e-mailing on your offers. All the best!

I'm so pleased that you mentioned this difference. I hope that you are able to download and transfer the funnel email list to your autoresponder.
Lily

Yes. You can download and transfer the funnel e-mail list to your auto responder. But there is an easy way. You can link your funnel e-mail list to your auto responder automatically by simply providing your funnel URL to your auto responder. Your auto responder will give you a code link to put in your funnel. Then you'll be all set. You don't have to do anything but set up offers to be sent out whenever you'd like. Best wishes!

What a terrific idea. Thanks for this answer as I will use it when I start setting up my funnel.

A "funnel" is the process of converting visitors into profits.

Example, your funnel could look like this:

Blog post -> Lead capture page -> Purchase page

An autoresponder is a tool that sends out automated messages to opted-in email addresses which you can use to re-expose your visitors to the purchase page.

Great explanation. I hadn't thought about it this way.
Thanks Lily 😁

Good explanation

Works better if you have a bridging page.

What do you mean by a bridging page Dave? Before or after the landing page?

Hi Lily. Before the landing page where you can offer free stuff or a bonus. It confirms what the customer is actually buying too, then the sales page/affiliate offer

A bridge page is used when you're promoted an offer to "cold traffic". You use it as a means of introducing your product or offer, before actually sending them there.

Thanks Dale.

An autoresponder is basically a messageservice. It responds to when someone register on your optin with a thank you page or welcome page and send them to a link you want. But you want to offer your customer more so you create a funnel.

A funnel is like Dave says an automated series of autoresponders. You do not want to send your customers the same mails over and over again so you create a series of linked maillists/optins and direct them through the funnel to other products and services you may have.I hope that was a good explanation

An excellent explanation of linked email campaigns that can form a funnel Hilde.

What autoresponder are you using? And have you created a funnel?

I'm using Aweber with a pop up and auto emails. I'm thinking about creating a funnel that's why I asked this question.

Mel seems to have a good answwer for you Lily.

To clarify, there IS a difference between an Autoresponder and a Funnel.

An autoresponder is a must have peice of software, which online gives you the opportunity to duplicate yourself through a series of AUTOmated follow ups, which work even when your asleep.

A Funnel, is literally all the ventures you have currently, put together in a Funnel, with typiclly a low priced Front End product, which then leads to upsells on other products or related services, which CAN be done through the autoresponder and segmentation

Thats how I have mine done.

I'd agree that you don't need clickfunnels. especially when you look at the history of how it was created and why.

My own funnel( which pays me nicely and regularly, runs off and also seperate to my blog. Once it runs nicely then you can work ON your business, not IN your business.

Thanks for sharing Dave!

Very interesting.

Mel

Yeh, the title asks for funnel v autoresponder, whereas the text asks about funnel v landing page. I was really answering with the 2nd one in mind. Hope I didn’t confuse. 😏

Dave

Wonderful clarity Dave.
Lily 😊

There is no difference Lily. They are the same. You don’t need clickfunnels really. There are cheaper options. I use a chatbot connected to AWeber. It works well, allows me to collect interested people and also lets me take them where they’re interested in going, based on the chatbot conversation branching.

You can see the chatbot in action here https://dkohara.com

Wow amazing. Thank you.
