What about copywrited material?
I am doing a review on a scam and I have taken several clips from the member area.
Can I publish this? I not only did clips of the lies and false statements, but also of the experiences that I went through while I was signed up with them.
I am ready to publish the review but I want to make sure I will not get sued by the scammers. (Imagine that, they scam the heck out of people and the one that wants to expose them gets the lawsuit,)
Any info anyone can provide would be helpful.
Thank you
Richard A
P.S. I knew it had to be a scam, but wanted to know how it was done. I could have found out by looking it up, but I wanted first-hand experience to share with my readers.

Oh! Clips! Yes I do that too sometimes. It gives an insider view. As yet no one has objected. J.
Hi Richard. You can put your clips into direct quotes " " on WordPress sites. You can also state that you are quoting directly from the site.
There is no law against stating your honest opinion. If you fear retaliation, soften your language without losing the message to your readers.

Do you mean you took some screenshots of bits of the website? Or you are using some of their images?
I do this kind of thing too when I am reviewing scams, as it's the best way to show your readers what you are talking about. Maybe there is always a slight chance that one of the site owners will get in touch and ask you to take it down. It's never happened to me, though.

As long as you state that it's your OPINION that it's a scam and that the screenshots are taken from their website. You're entitled to have an opinion.
Wise words, Marion. This is what I do when I do scam reviews. I have always approached it with the viewpoint like "Does this LOOK like a scam?" These days, I am being even more careful, making my wording such that I am making it clear that ti is merely my opinion.
