mistakes made thus far
Well, I joined 10 days ago, and I have seen this is going to be a long process to get started for me.
You see, I am new to just about all of this. I do not have a face book account, or a twitter account, or anything really that shows I can really write. Yet even though I did not come into this to "Get rich quick". I did come in here thinking I could get the ball rolling pretty quick.
And in the start, it was. All the technical stuff in Course 1 I was able to get through fairly quickly.(In about 3 days) Then I got to course 2. The beginning of real content. I thought I was doing kind of OK, though it was really simplistic and I asked my mentor, Ian Prybil about it and he gave me some amazing directions to go with it to be more informative for my readers. And though he gives great advice, his advice showed me how little I knew about creating a review site too. =)
Also, it is OK to go into a niche you are interested in but know very little about. But before you choose a niche, make sure you know the language of your niche. I know very little of my niche, but even less about medical terminology! lol
Also, I have to learn to do intensive research. (Never been a strong point) But in order to do that I have to learn medical terminology!
In short, my mistakes were:
1)Thinking I had any idea what I was getting into.
2)Thinking that I knew anything about anything.
3)Trying to rush while knowing little to almost nothing.
Now none of these are bad mistakes, all of them can be easily overcome. Change my thinking, learn and steady my pace. Slow down to produce quality, don't rush a bunch of meaningless stuff to just get going.
Thank you Ian for all your help this far. Thank you WA for being here to teach me how to REALLY do this while keeping my spirits up!
I hope this helps other new people to get a feel that this is real, and real almost always takes time.

I'm making mistakes, too. Building a website is onerous for me, but hanging out WA is easy. So, I hang out here whenever I need a break, which is often. I'm working on it shielded from search engines, which allows me to experiment. Someone had also suggested creating a siterubix practice website. That's helpful. If you hang in and follow the steps, you will eventually succeed. Let me know if I can be helpful. Best, Carol
I thank you again! A practice site might go a long way. I will have to force myself to remember it is "practice" so I can get over it saying siterubix. lol every time I see it I want to buy the domain that I can't really afford at this time just to get that off of there.
