Milestone-Course 2 is Complete

Well, I finally made it through all 10 courses of lesson 2. It feels like forever, but I'm so glad I made it! I ran into a few snags along the way and kept getting stuck on some of the lessons and just couldn't push ahead.

One big issue for me is that my site wasn't (and still isn't) indexed by Google. My site has been up with a few pages and posts for about 6 weeks, and still nothing. I couldn't get it to be verified or have Google Analytics working, either. I must have worked on the latter two things for more than two weeks. I just kept running around in circles and would never get anywhere. Consequently, it was keeping me from writing posts because all the spare time I had to devote to any progress was going to lessons and asking questions on site verification and analytics!

I suggest hooking up with him because he has really helped me immensely. He was able to send me this video by another WA associate, Marion Black, and get my site verified through FTP- File Transfer Protocol.

So, even though I couldn't go the conventional route to get verified, I was able to learn about FileZilla and FTP. That was cool! It took a while to figure out, but Marion's tutorial was great and I did everything step by step to get verified with Google using FTP and about 30 minutes later I got an email from Google saying I was verified.

Today I check my Google Analytics and that seems to be working, too, with the exception of Real Time view. I have no idea what's up with that, but I haven't yet been able to get that working.

I'm now still waiting for Google to index my site. I've seen others on WA get their indexing right away with only a couple of pages, but for some reason Google hates me.

Now that a while has gone by and I haven't written any posts, I need to get back on that. So here is to a progressive week when it comes to my site and onto course 3!
