I have sent out one Newsletter last Summer. Well! I say I sent it,I asked my daughter to help me and she said it was too complicated and she would do it and show me later. It went out and I got lots of response back and then dealt with the work that it brought in. She never did get round to showing me how! And has since left home for her own journey. It has been playing on my mind since.
I joined WA at the very end of December last year and never thought my Im journey would be such an upward learning curve and so quickly. I did the initial training and have been doing Bootcamp and what came about? Lists, collecting your emails so you had your lists. Webnairs by Jay and Kyle's classrooms on emailing, Aweber and soon everywhere I was looking on line sites were capturing you details and email. You tube vids of how to drive your list.
Now some of you are thinking, 'What list?". I did too but I started collecting mine locally at first and soon I had gathered over 200 contacts for my information at events and networking. Without even realising. They have sat quietly on my laptop only being used when I needed to contact for certain events.
So this Spring break I put my daily goals up and one of them was to learn how to send a Newsletter using my list. I watched all the videos on WA and anything else I could find, putting off in a way just doing it. Now, my daughter had signed up my first newsletter with a free account with 'Vertical Response' I watched their video, seemed easy enough, she had also purchased some 1000 extra credits for me, nice hadn't realised that.
So I set about following the instructions and writing the Newsletter using their template, a simple one so I knew it would open. Tried to upload an image took way to long so cancelled it and took out that section. Re-wrote it I don't know how many times and then at 7pm three nights ago sent it.
I have had so many replies to the change of my website, sign ups and some passed on the email and their friends have now signed up for course in September, making the day job I love even safer. I have had applications for my teaching services and booking for talks.
I have just checked the stats 98% open rate and no un subscribe, so thats good for my first campaign.
Now the next goal is to add a Newsletter form to my art portfolio site so I can offer it out to the Universe! After that I think a product campaign!!! Who knows?

oo and a footnote, which prompted this blog, my daughter opened the Newsletter this morning and has just texted me, "Wow Mum a Newsletter, you have been busy, love the website new look!", Praise indeed!
