So today I see a super amazing, SEEMINGLY helpful, comment on my blog and I think, "hmm, seems interesting enough for me to click to it." Here's the comment on my website:

"Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin"

At the word, SEO Plugin he links back to an affiliate product. It's called Google Sniper X or some sh** like that. Anyway, I watched the video and thought to myself, "hmm, that's actually pretty impressive and the spamming strategy was helpful it turns out."

Here's what I do with those amazing spam comments. I KEEP them. But before I approve the comments (which is a setting I have in my WP site that ensures nonsense like this doesn't automatically go into my site) I edit the comments. I remove the links to their site and approve the comments. Why waste good comments? It's called my "Spam Backfire" plan. It helps good recognize that people are leaving comments on my site, and I beat the spammers at their own game. :o)

Anyone ever heard of this Google Sniper X or have seen anything like this done?

Yeah, get that one all the time. Just enough good information in there to make you think about it. Then I look closer and realize that I have all that in place and they are just spamming the keyword. Delete.

LOL Seriously... that's exactly how I feel. But I choose to say "eh, whatever. Two can play that game."

Be careful, but a clever idea. :)

Thank you! I do remove 99% of what they say and just leave out the part that compliments me. And in some cases, I completely rewrite it :) YOu wanna Spam me!!! I GOT YOUR SPAM RIGHT HERE*** While grabbing..............

Beware... Be careful... these are usually very crafty type people that can't or won't solicit business in a legitimate way... They live in the gray area... there are no magic beans... if you need testimonials or legitimate comments invite some of your fellow members to do exactly that... THey can be an honest resource for feedback.... :)

thats true, but at the same time why waste an IP address? You know what I'm saying? I just rewrite the whole thing. i don't mind manually editing some of the comments. Other's I just flat out delete.

Delete them. You're not doing yourself any favors by having them. That same comment is posted millions of times over by bots. Google is going to see that you have spam content on your pages and isn't going to react favorably.

Well, I've edited the comments to suit what I need. I dont just remove the link. I completely change up the comment itself making it unique in all respects.. I should've been more specific. Is that ok?

I agree. Why waste good comments... You're very clever. Thanks for sharing this information.

thank you very much!

Haven't seen anything like this - yet. Thanks for bringing it to us,
Regards
Hudson

Your welcome Mr. Hudson. Glad to shed light in the darkness :)
