Too hot today back to work inside

I had my day planned, did the shopping at 9 am then made breakfast for all, fed the girls, and spent this morning answering emails and in WA.
Then I planned on doing some work in the back and front yard mowing the grass and doing some trimming of the hedges etc.
After that was going to do some more work on my sites and also back in WA.
I had the air con on this morning before I left for the shops as it does get warm inside so it was nice where I was.
I knew it was going to be warm like yesterday which was at its worst around 32C just bearable enough to work outside.
However, I forgot to check today's weather. As it was nice and comfortable inside, I felt ok now I will go and finish what I wanted to do outside.
Nope
I then went outside to get prepared. Then bam! The heat hit me so hard it felt like it was burning my skin. Then I said na no way I am going to work outside in the heat today.
What makes it worse is there are no winds just dry heat and having 40 C with dry heat feels even hotter.
Might as well be in the desert I know my fellow Aussies in Western Australia have it worse up to 45C plus and many in certain areas have had power cuts much like some of you up north.
There will be some place in Westen Australia expected to hit 50 C (122 F) or a touch more so I guess I am grateful I will only get 40 c and still have the air con on.
Those really dark colors on the map will be the hottest.
Power cuts are not so nice, here you are sweating and sweltering in the heat, while folks up north of the content are freezing with no power to stay warm. I feel for you Brenda hope you got some power back at least.
So I let the girls inside to stay cool they have their mats inside and water so they are fine and comfortable and enjoy the coolness inside and sleeping so that is good.
It is 3.30 pm as I write this check the weather at the moment here it is 37 C that's around 98 F, unfortunately, it doesn't get better as by 4 pm or so my time it will be 40 C (104 F) so today's plan has been ditched.
It won't cool down till around 9 pm when it will 29 C (84F) so I have to wait another day perhaps tomorrow or Tuesday, it is going to be cloudy so hopefully I can work outside and the way the weather has been here has been crazy.
Yes we are in Summer here in Australia and expected to have some warm and also hot days but the last month it has also been hot and muggy then the next day cool and filled with thunderstorms and heavy rain so that stops you from wanting to do some work outside. Oh well, I will use the weather as an excuse to work inside and stay cool.
Wish I could send some of that heat up north continent. I will do my best. So, you may need to put up with me on WA here and there but want to really spend more time on my sites which is the most important part.
In the meantime, wherever you are in the world stay cool or stay warm and also remember this. I am going to get a cold drink then have an Ice cream then do some work.

Anything over 35°C and it is way too hot to be doing any outside work Andre!!
Above 40°C I rarely venture outside unless it's an emergency trip to the market or make use of my balcony pool!!
Aircon is my best friend in the scorching summer months here!
But... as it is winter here, it was around -7°C when I got up to let my pup out this morning... much preferable than anything over 35 in my book though!!

Yay! Fellow heat dweller here in SC NSW. Only got to 35 today. I have been inside most of the day working on my new site. Had some wins with WP. New to this all.

Great to hear about your wins with WP and yes you know what I mean with today's warmth. It has cooled down to 33 at the moment the SC got a bit of reprieve than us on the SW.
Still have warm air outside and muggy.

Wow, way too warm for me!
We were 10 degrees Fahrenheit today & minus 5 with the wind chill, here in the North East USA.
I’d rather be too cold than too hot because I can wear warm outdoor clothes.
You did the smart thing by coming back inside. 👍😎

Thanks Frank and wouldn't mind a bit of a cold chill I don't mind the heat it is the dry air that makes it worse and now it's muggy tomorrow according to the weather forecast it will be in the low 20 c so will give the air con a break. Don't look forward to the next electricity bill either.

Thanks Frank regardless summer or winter the bill will never be in our favour but cooler today and tomorrow low 20's the back to normal summer heat

Thanks it's 39 C now but tomorrow according to the weather forcast expected to be at least around 15 C cooler and will mostly be in the low 20's
Feel like another ice cream but might have some watermelon I bought today which will be more refreshing and healthier

Yes, I'd love to have some of that heat here in Alaska. It's been snowing all day and I've had a wood fire going all day, too, which helps a lot with the comfort level.
So cool that we in WA get to hear from folks who live in totally different climates...makes us more aware of the diversity of our wonderful world. Hope you feel some cool breezes soon. I'd gladly do a bit of a trade.
