Google,Google, Google Where Art Thou Brains?
Certainly not with Your Head of Search apparently.
As we all know Google has done another update in March which is doing many heads in.
The Update has apparently finished but the issues persist for many including what seems to be the demise of Google Search and the way they are changing things (not necessarily for the best for website owners.
We are or have been told that AI and certain Spam updates are the cause of many issues but that is only at the surface level.
Yet many are suffering the wrath of Google with their so-called E.E.A.T. guildeines.
Funny how they talk about unhelpful content and spam when they have decided to help forums like Reddit and Quora stay at the top of their search engines.
In particular Reddit, which has heaps of spam within their site they are not a good as they once were. But as they have a deal with them that seems to be fine.
Well it’s not
But here may be a twist on who is actually killing Google Search, which has been going downhill for a while.

Niche Pursuits Video
The other night I watched a Youube video actually it is a recorded podcast from Niche Pursuits.

This caught my eye about who might actually be killing google search rather than just AI content abuse and other spam, which of course is not helping either for the users.

Now I won’t talk too much about the podcast, which relates to what I stated above and parts below, as it is about 1hour and six minutes long so it is up to you if you wish to watch all of it or parts of it.

However aside from the ads within I suggest if you are really interested in knowing more about who may be responsible for the claim is really killing Google search and what backup they have it is very interesting.
It does make a lot of sense more than the Head of Google search, as there are internal emails between him and staff that went public that can explain a lot more than we realise.
They also discuss a post shared by a person who claims this person is the one responsible for Google Search going downhill and the issues many are facing now with the search function and further going forward (or should I say backwards)/
Interestingly, as I listened to what they mentioned this head of Google search used to work for Yahoo until its demise in rankings as a search engine, along with a huge percentage drop of control online.
Now this guy has been with Google for a while, and things it seems they may be heading the same way as Yahoo.
Although if it does will take longer as they have a powerful presence on the internet, as we all know.
I am not going to mention the name will leave it up to the video, as they state it a few times.
I am just sharing this for you to learn and understand more about what may be really going on within Google itself.

How accurate they are, you can decide. As I said, they have internal emails shared publicly they can explain a lot on what is happening, along with a Google staff (if they are still there) created a post on Linkedin talking about no real leadership with staff since this guy came in.
So not many, it seems likes this guy apart from the CEO of Google from what it sounds.
So if you want take time to listen and learn and understand more of what is really happening and not just about AI or Spam that is creating site content to drop and a possibly real reason why Google search is falling.
We need to delve deeper and really be aware of what may be the real cause and not just solely think AI and spam is the only issue.

I don't know what is wrong with Google, but it has been wrong for a long time. I hope they can work it out because those of us in the sticks/rural areas rely on the trustworthiness of search engines to point users to our sites!

They have been going wrong since this guy took over as I said and the podcast will confirm this and how he ruined Yahoo when they were at their peak.

Aside from the fact that Google has killed my MMO website, I have personally turned away from Google search completely. The first turnoff is the four or five ads that they display. Then, it's Reddit, Medium, or Quora that are next, and then, maybe at the bottom of the page, we might find a useful link.
I use AI (Usually Chat GPT but sometimes even Gemini or Bing Co-Pilot) and fact-check afterward instead. What I like about asking AI is that I get a complete, written answer with bullet points and also links to where the answer was found. A lot easier than going through all those ads and unrelated links!
So I would say that I am part of what is going on in the search engine world (maybe) 😉

Google are effectively censoring search now. They decide what people should see, based on their own inbuilt prejudice. ‘Ordinary Joe’ websites don’t stand a chance as it’s pretty much impossible to rank on page 1 for anything other than obscure long tail search queries.
I often submit a query to Google and find it returns the answer it wants to give (heavily featuring sponsored ads) rather than the answer I need. Quora, Reddit and Medium dominate the results and buried down on page 2 or 3 may be something of interest.
Search results have been manipulated to the edge of usefulness. Google needs taking to task and users will soon start to desert it in favour of a new fairer search engine.

Thanks Dave yes they are not here for website owners never were.
Their head of search as I mentioned ruined Yahoo. eventually Google will be the same if he stays on. It will of course take longer than Yahoo but time is nearing meanwhile website particular those whos authority is not high will suffer.
I don't care what some others will say they are only saying some things to protect their business which I can understand and I am sure they know it will affect them too and not is a positive way.
