How good is your content? How do you know?

Hi All:

This will not be a long post (well compared to normal) as most of what is covered will be given in two very important links I will provide from Google.

So you are going through the training ( well I hope you are) and writing content, which is great

Over the years and especially the last couple of years with Google Helpful Content updates to which I am sure, most have been affected even I know the super affiliate here. and for most, not in the positive of ways either, unfortunately.

We have seen many changes to the way Search Engines work. Especially Google who is looking at how well we write content and if it is really helpful or just a waste of writing time hence, not ranking as well as one would like because it is not up to par as it could and should be.

.

My question to you is:

How good do you feel your content is, and how do you know you have done what is needed?

Close enough is really not good enough, more so these days online.

Have you done a self-assessment or just relied on feedback, etc?

You might even ask,

How can I know if it does what it is supposed to do?

Which is to first gain followers to my site and getting their trust while showing my authority with the content I produce.

The ultimate result would be getting my readers to click the links to either buy the products or services I am promoting and the final result which I remind you is a benefit that is making a commission as a result of your good work and effort.

For those making sales, commissions regularly, that is great, even then, you can push further and expand on your earnings perhaps those can do even better.

Guidelines

Are you getting followers to your site in the first place?

Are they regular followers?

Are you making commissions as a result of your great work?

Well for most that depends on the quality of your content and how you go about writing helpful and unique content that benefits first and foremost your readers.

Well here is your way of checking out.

Those who have been in the mix will certainly know the first one which is the Google E-E-A-T- Guidelines link is below.

For those new to the scene I strongly urge you take proper time to read it through as it is for your benefit.

ttps://developers.google.com/search/blog/2022/12/google-raters-guidelines-e-e-a-t

Now when you read that it will give you a greater understanding of what Google is looking for however, it doesn't stop there.

Here is where it is also vital you take proper time. I said proper time and not skim though.

If you are really serious about having a successful business online then you will make time otherwise you are just wasting time for yourself.

This way I am providing the links below as it covers what you need to look at, check to see if you are providing within your content that is asked of and apply what needs to be fixed, adjusted or re-done if necessary.

This checklist will show you what you need to ensure you are covering what is required to not only help the readers intent but also give you a greater opportunity to rank in Search Engines especially Google, but don't underestimate Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines.

Google Search Central

Both links are from Google Search Central and you can later looking around their site for more details on many aspects which are all important for you and your success online.

I suggest you first save their links somewhere and with the bottom link I strongly suggest you copy and paste what they say and use that as a checklinks before you publish your content.

https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/creating-helpful-content#self-assess

There is much stated in this guideline, so don't take it lightly with what it states.

But like in Kyle latest post you keep going over the hurdles and not give up.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle/blog/the-hurdles-are-part-of-the-path-keep-jumping-over-them

Here by reading, applying what you learn from the guideline and don't forget the same with all the training you have within WA will help you lesson many hurdles.

Later you can look at all they have and see what else you can gain from what Google is seeking over the years.

Treat this as part of your research in order to be successful online.

That is all; the rest is up to you

Wishing you well

As Always

I totally get this, Andre!

It's so easy to think our content is great, but actually measuring it is another story.

I’ve started paying more attention to Google’s guidelines, but self-assessing is something I definitely need to do more often.

Thanks for the reminder!

All the best,
Boris

Most welcome we all need to self assess many area
Wishing you well

I think on a professional note my content is good but definitely needs work on how to write authentically.✍️😊

Great post, Andre. I hope you are keeping well.

Myra ♥️

Yep I think many have that issues plus those who haven't written since the old school days don't realize that style is not the same as content writing for our websites.

Thanks Myra appreciatred.

Help?

What specifically do you need help with?

Hi Daniele what help do you need?

I see that you haven't finished your starter training yet.

I suggest you complete the training given to you and apply what Kyle teaches.

We can't help you if you dont' respond with what help you need? we are not mind readers

I used to think the E. E. A. T. (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) was just referring to the content in your articles. Now I’m realizing that it also includes your website as a whole from your domain to your web design.

Google looks at all these factors when it comes to ranking. By concentrating solely on content, I’ve neglected the website itself. Google isn’t taking my sites seriously and I will need to rebuild them now. Otherwise, I’ll never see any serious organic traffic.

No probs Steve That is why suggesting to go through these two for those not familar and get that in check first. The rest can be done later but these are more important as they relate to our content if we want to rank and do well for our readers.

Enjoy your day

Andre

Sorry, I had to adjust my earlier comment. Took a minute. Lol

Yes that is true you whole website is affected by EEAT many have been affected by Google have you read Jay's quick video today on not relying just on Google but look to other sources. Which is the way to go these days Don't' just depend on Google.

Ahhh very interesting video. Thanks for sharing Andre.

I asked Jay this too. What does it mean that some of my pages are ranking well in Yahoo? I don’t know how many are using this search engine and how much traffic it brings me. lol
