Bard has a new name Gemini
Just a short update with Google Bard.
If you are using Bard you may notice a small change which was just done on Tuesday I believe 6th February 2024.
Don’t worry you haven’t clicked anything else by accident as Bard has changed its name to Gemini.
Some of you may have noticed Bard has recently embraced a new name: Gemini!
For those who haven’t used Bard before it is worth looking into.
Why the New Name?
First things first, why the switch?
Well, the name Bard was initially used during development, and as Their technology evolved, their team found that "Gemini" better reflected the advanced AI models powering the tool.
In their words “Think of Gemini as the constellation of abilities that combine to bring you the same incredible features you know and love, just under a new banner”
Does This Change Anything for You?
Not really! At its core, Gemini is still the same powerful language tool you relied on with Bard.
You can still access all the familiar features, from generating creative text formats to answering your questions in an informative way.
The change primarily affects the name and branding, ensuring consistency across the platforms where Gemini is used.
What's In a Name?
Gemini stands for growth, connection, and innovation.
While the name might have changed, you will still receive the same valuable and enjoyable experience as before.
This is more of a branding aspect.
One that includes all the other areas some in the background and at times they come to the forefront when using the old Bard now Gemini to help you craft what you are looking for.
This could be images, content ideas and even generating content but with that don’t forget to change where necessary and always write as a human for humans and not just copy and paste what is given regardless of which Ai programs you use.
Changes are expected and essential to keep up to modern times.
As we know regardless of which AI you use, based on our input they also learn and evolve to make many improvements and changes where needed.
Fortunately, Bard is more up to date compared to other I versions so a great tool to use.
Remember it is a tool not a replacement for content creation.

I do use Bard or Gemini now lol, I sure did not know about the updated name until I came across this post. I have been using the site platform AI for my last couple of posts so I don't lose my credits.
I was one of the first to sign up to Bard and they said the first users would always be free with unlimited usage, I hope this holds true with the name change.
The only thing I was not super crazy about with Bard and I hope this was updated with the name change, creating images with people in them has not been possible.
I use Bing Create for those images, but still, I think Google could update that to stay in competition with rivals.

Thanks for the updated information, Andre. I've also noted the change in name. Gemini is a good tool, as are other AI's I use. But as you said, it's a tool, not a replacement for our actual work.

I noticed the same thing. I knew that it was coming, just didn't know when until it hit me. Following Partha's advice a couple of months back, I was using BARD more than Claude. I had finally taught BARD how to create Fluffless content (if that was possible).
Then POOF! Hello Gemini! - I am back to Fluff-filled content beyond recognition.

Prompted - I never had this much problem with BARD.
Replied - I understand your frustration and apologize for not yet capturing your desired tone accurately. It's my top priority to fulfill your request, and while I've made progress, it seems I still haven't hit the mark.
Take Gemini with a grain of salt (or a bucket).
thank you for that there is still a lot that Gemini need to catch up on compared to Chatgpt they have a long way to go in my opion and been using Gemini a bit since this post and starting to not enjoy too much with some areas.
You never know perhaps Google will decided to get off it's A@@@ and start taking advantage as they are behind the scenes with many areas compared to others AI
