Top Five I Got From Kyle’s 12/2016 Live Training

Having just listened to Kyle’s Dec 2016 Live Training, man, did I get some great pointers and encouragement. Two overall themes dominated the top five I got out of this training: People are my audience, and focus is my responsibility and key to success.

Kyle hit many amazing points in this 1 hour plus training. The first that he covered is to treat yodathis like a business. This resonated with me. Many years ago, during a recession, I was a business broker, helping people to buy and sell small private businesses. One thing I got really quickly was that a person looking to buy a business also had his resume out there, there was a miniscule chance he would buy. Owning a business is hard dedicated work, whereas a job has a beginning and end time, and a sure income stream from day one. No try, just do!

I love the comments on the affiliate programs evaluations. I took some sales courses in the past, and what Kyle had to say was similar to the cookbook evaluation I learned back then, and then had put aside. Basically, learn what activity from me it takes to drive x amount of traffic, how much traffic results in clicks, how many clicks to a sale for each product. With evaluation like that, I can know what to put my efforts into for the best ROI – return on investment – in this case, investment of my time, talent and effort. So, I am so new at this, that I am not yet getting rankings or even clicks. But here is my grid, so I am ready when they begin to happen in the next couple of months.

Sales

Revenue

The third one that I find really exciting is the fact that longer tail keywords actually can contain many shorter tail keywords within them. I mean, duh? That makes so much sense, and I did not even think of it. Of course, if I have a keyword that says, “What are the top ten best acrylic paints brands? it contains a bunch of different phrases:

Top ten best acrylic paints brands

Best acrylic paints brands

Acrylic paints brands

Best Acrylic Paints

And the broadest, acrylic paints ~ highest competition.

The discussion on failure was really strong. Kyle talked about reasons for failure, which seem to center on those two overall themes I mentioned at the outset: people and focus. He says when we lose the centricity that people are our customers, and our sources for being successful, we lose our reason for being, and their reason for reading us. Pursuing the next shiny object, or some process or network trick or technique instead of writing content that appeals to where people are coming from and what they are seeking to find out about, on what their problem or question is about when they got to our site, is a surefire way to lose their attention, and fail – fail to get clicks, fail to get sales and fail to get them back again.

Another cause of failure is being impatient. Impatience, or getting rich quick, does not foster the hard work and consistent effort that is required to be successful. In a way it circles back to the first point about treating this as a business, not an attempt. It is absolutely remarkable that by following the process that has been set in place at WA, consistent effort and following the plan can lead to a breakaway in about three months. Having been in other businesses for many years, three months is astoundingly short!

The last key point that came across to me is how important it is to immerse myself in my niche. Learn, research, read, get google alerts, on my niche. Kyle’s assertion that he has never exhausted a niche is pretty interesting. If in 14 years, he has not, it may just be that possibilities in my niche are similarly nearly unending.

I appreciate Kyle for this training, and Bo – my coach ! for directing me to watch it. What a great way to begin not only the new year, but my second month in WA!

Loved the comment that Kyle said he has never exhausted a niche, and therefore I shouldn't either!

Great post by the way!

Hi Annie, you are a very seasoned business women and already have a deep thought on every aspect of your online business. I am going to witness your success very soon. It is so honored to have the opportunity to work with people like you. I am very excited to have the online business journey with you.

Annie, reading every group member's response to Kyle's webinar is really interesting since one thing stands out to me in each post. I love the way you wrote about the long tail keywords. The way in which you wrote about this makes perfect sense and is well worth remembering. Wishing you all the best for the journey ahead. By the way I've also just followed you. Mark

Thank you. Glad to be able to share some of Kyle's info in a way that helps you.

Well done Annie and congratulations for snagging a spot on Bo's team!

Great information Annie and I enjoyed your take on things. Also loved the part about keywords. Using short keywords will actually limit the opportunity to reach more searches. That idea of the longer keyword phrases makes perfect sense. Kyle possesses a lot of knowledge.

Craig

He sure does.

They are you just have to find what is unique in what you do and promote that. Great post you are off and running.

I am excited to be a part of your team.

The info on keywords was really good. I tend to keep forgetting how long-tailed keywords can be broken down as he explained. Lots of great inf in that video and a nice recap here!

Thanks! Glad I could remind you of that information.

Great post Annie! I also did not realize that about the long tail keywords. It opens up yet another vast dimension doesn't it??
