Is it okay to use the same keywords or title for more than one post when you intend to divide a long post into three parts. Say you have a post in Part 1, 2,3 each covering a s

if you use the same keyword on your site then google will rank the one it thinks is the best - the others don't get ranked.
so it is best to use keywords in the first part of the title with xx part 1
so pick a main topic for each part of the post and find a keyword for each of them.
for example:
building the frame of a delta printer : renren3d delta build part 1
electronics and wiring a delta printer : renren3d delta build part 2
setting up your delta printer : renren3d delta build part 3
but having the keywords in the first part of the title rather than the second.
don't forget to add links to each of the posts.
good luck

"if you use the same keyword on your site then google will rank the one it thinks is the best"

Can you tell us the source of your information, as I cannot find anything about that. As far I know your statement is not correct.

Not getting ranked is not true.

The way how to get ranked very much depends depends on the current authority level of her website, if she is already well ranked, it is possible to rank more articles with the same keywords too.

If not, Robert's answer makes more sense, to use different keywords to get easier ranked, build up internal links to the articles will benefit SEO as well

try this one:

or this one:

you won't get ranked for the same keyword as google thinks you are trying to dominate that keyword- it will rank one article and the others will be ranked on other keywords not the same keyword. -you are competing against yourself.
there is plenty of info out there on not to use the same keyword twice Stefan.
phil

Hi Phil,

I had read that yoast article already and I disagree with you on this Phil, nowhere is stated what you wrote that you won't rank for it at all.

It is written as advise not to use it if you have no high authority, note it is an advise.

It is also written that you can rank for it, once you have authority.

So please, if you take sources like these already, please read carefully what is written before you put up statements that confuse the readers here.

You can also have a read here, it is an article from a well known resource, Searchengineland:

https://searchengineland.com/what-people-get-wrong-about-keyword-cannibalization-292148

It will surely clear up some mis-thinkings about this topic. :))

Cheers,
Stefan, ToLiNoLi

but the titles of the articles shown are completely different - if you use the same title with part 1 - part 2 and then part 3, that is a different matter is it not - as was asked in the question.

No harm but why not try and find 3 geat keywords instead and get ranked for all three?
Robert

Thanks for your response. I don't want to change the main topic since it is just a continuation. My feeling is different keywords may change the flow.

Not if they are related and you do say you are going to have different parts.
Robert

Nothing speaks against it, if the keywords are well chosen, you will build authority with those keywords. :))

Thank you for your response. Let me now work on the three part series.
