3...2...1....Happy New Year!

Brand new day, brand new month, brand new year. Exciting isn't it? :-)

I woke up this morning with a new view in life. If I wake up the next day, I will be grateful that I am breathing and will live it to the fullest. Set my priorities right and move forward. Forget resolutions, that has never worked for me.

3 years ago, on the 3rd of January 2014,my mom passed away in her sleep. The night before, she was watching her favorite shows on TV , laughing away. The next morning, when I went to wake her up for her breakfast, she never woke up. The shock of her passing, killed me inside.

The grief process took its toll on me. A lot of things came into perspective for me especially the importance of prioritizing and not taking anything for granted.

When one says, life is short...it's such an understatement. It is more a gamble. You don't even know if you will live in the next minute!

Yes, it has been 3 years since she, physically, left this world. She still lives in my heart. I can hear her say, " Angie, it's now YOUR time. LIVE FEARLESSLY". Indeed, it is time to pick myself up and live fearlessly.

So with that in mind,I would like to wish everyone here in WA a Happy 2017. Pilot your life and enjoy the journey.

"The future starts today, not tomorrow" - Pope John Paul II

Best wishes to all from Kuala Lumpur,

Angeline

Angie - like you I too have lost my father to dimentia as well as my mother. It's not an easy time - the carer suffers as much as the patient - in this case your dad.

However, I've learned that after going through the moments of grieving that I had to put aside the past - having celebrated my dad's life, and move forward to look with hope to what lies ahead.

That's why I'm with WA - 'cause there are so many people 'cheering you on' - encouraging you to 'jUst do it'!

You can if you want to - it's going to be up to you.

So sorry in hearing about your loss. Yes, it is never an easy time.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I appreciate it :-)

Best wishes for you too Angeline, for her it was the best way to go, although it is always too soon to see your parents go, for the people left behind, it feels so much harder.

My Dad passed away also 3 years ago on the 13th of January, after a fight from the day before Christmass. He suffered from the disease of Alzheimer, and he had a disease related delirium, not knowing anything anymore, he was panicking for 3 weeks, and we stayed with him during this awful fight, reassuring him everything was going to be alright, and wishing the end would come (I am not praying much, but I wished for him the end)

So sorry to hear about your dad. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for all of you. Where ever our parents are now, I am sure it is a better place. I would like to think so. :-)

Thank you for your sharing and words of encouragement. :-)

I like to think so too, Angelina :)

Have a happy and prosperous 2017, Angeline.

Thank you. Same to you too. :-)
