Fish Out of Water
I'm plugging along through the lessons, and I'm learning so much. But I feel like I'm out of my element here. Even though I'm doing what is recommended, I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I have no intention of giving up, I just don't want to be spinning my wheels either. Part of me, at this point, is just ranting a bit... hoping that by getting my thoughts out of my head on on "paper" will help them make sense.
I wonder if I made the right choice in starting this website...
Should I have started a business and then the website...
Is it too late to change my direction, or am I stuck on the path I chose...
Thoughts like these run through my head fairly regularly over the last few days. I love what I'm doing, and I'm loving the information that I'm sharing. Maybe I need to get more personal in my postings? Perhaps putting more "Me" into what I'm writing will give it a purpose again, not just a going-thru-the-motions vibe.
Here's to a more personal approach!

Hi Angela, don't feel like the Lone Stranger. I ask myself those questions a lot. I had no computer, internet or social media experience at all. I have to go over everything two or three times to get a vague understanding. Then I watch related videos and visit the classrooms. I am a former old school teacher and believe you have to understand the basics before you move on. I may be slower, but when I start on my next website later this year, I'll know more about what I'm doing and it will go much faster with fewer mistakes. So don't worry and don't give up on your site yet. Give it a year and see how it produces. Who knows, a tweak here and there may make a huge difference.
Don
Hi Don, thank you so much for sharing your own experience. Luckily, in this case, I'm one of the most stubborn people I know. I am bound and determined to make this work for me. I feel like I'm heading in the right direction, just need to ease up on myself I guess. Thanks again!
You are not alone. Most of us go through this at some point. Do not give up. One thing that I have learned is that if I go through the material again that I gain a new perspective on all the information. But you also need to take a step back and take a deep breath. Look at your profile pic, it gives you a clue. Jerry
Thank you, Jerry. I appreciate the feedback. I've been so intent on moving forward, that I hadn't considered taking a step back to regain my focus. Thanks again.
I've felt the same way. If this is new to you then your mind really doesn't have anything to relate it to but look how many people are successful using this program.
That's what I keep reminding myself. :) Thanks for letting me know I'm not losing my mind!

Hi Angela, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that about 90% of us are or were in the same boat! There is a whole lot of information being thrown at us and it's not uncommon to feel like you're just drifting through it. Just take it at your own pace. Even go back and review some lessons. I am no different. I feel like I'm getting a handle on it and then a blog and think "oh ya I forgot that part"! I am confident it will all come together in my brain one day. Hang in there and know that you're not alone :)
Thank you for your insight. I am glad to hear that it isn't just me. I got so caught up in the "getting things done" that I didn't learn the why I'm doing the things. I appreciate you reaching out!
