Google plus suspended my account. Why?

Hello,

I had two posts in Google plus and today my account was suspended because they said I was spamming. I contacted and follow the steps for the account to be reviewed. They have a feedback option, and I went ahead contacted them and asked can they tell me what was the issue. I am new to social media, what did I do wrong?

My account went into a review mode and after eight hours, the account was back to normal. I deleted the last post which may have triggered a suspension, perhaps the post was worded incorrectly.

I was not contacted by Google at all, nor email, nothing, no explanation. Totally weird, if you asked me. I expected from them to highlight and pinpoint the post that caused the suspension.

Anyway, I will reevaluate the post and write it again, not before taking some google plus tutorials to understand the do's and don't's of this social platform.

I will have to join other platforms as well.

Just thought I let everyone know that it took about eight hours for the account to go back to normal. I was a bit worry because I felt accused for something and there was no explanation no highlight of the actual issue.

If it happens to you, I would say, review the last post and delete it, and have them review the account again.

Best,

Ana

By now of course you know that Google+ is shutting down.

I don't like the clutter on Fb and frankly don't trust them to keep my information private. Google also had a data hack and that is what has prompted their decision. At least they are taking prompt action. Can't say the same for Fb.

The general consensus is that Google will be back with an even better social network platform.

Sometimes people online can get "click happy" and report people for no real reason. Especially when your content may be in the same realm as other users, and they suffer no consequences. Happy to hear you got everything straightened out.

Thank you so much for your support. I will re-write my posts.

Happy week ahead!

Ana

So glad you've got this all worked out. I appreciate the information.
Have a great day.
Wendi :)

Hi Wendi,

It looks like other members had similar issues. I am going to be more careful moving forward when posting in Google. Furthermore, I wanted to alert others because as a new member if we are not using Google plus, we don't have the experience, and we don't know that we did something with the wording, etc.

Thank you for writing.

All the best to you!

Hey Ana,
Thanks for the heads up!!! Nice follow through by the way.

Tried and True

Google plus seems to have a pretty shallow bright test when it comes to categorizing things as being spammy. Like all large communication and social platforms, they are not renowned as being particularly communicative, which is kind of bizarre given their chosen space in the internet world.

Great come back though Ana and sound advice if we come up against it, sometimes the best defense is to go on the offensive and stand up for ourselves and ask why and also take some action to change the slight that they have taken to heart.

Best wishes Ana.

It is very likely because you have shared an affiliate link directly on G+. They see this as spam and will block your account.

Hello,

I inserted my link for my free information. The page has no links to buy anything there, but the home page does. I don't understand because I noticed many other people postings with a website link within their posts, which takes people to a website with an affiliate link.

Are we to write and not direct the followers to go to my website?

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate it very much.

Ana

I post links on G+ to my website that has affiliate links all the time, so it is definitely allowed in general.

If you link to a full article with a lot of good info, it should not be a problem to link to an article on your website that has affiliate links in it.

sound great, I will re-write the post. Thanks so much for replying so fast.

All the best,

Ana

A good recovery!

Thank goodness, now I am a bit scare to post. I am rewriting the post, but not sure I want to post it yet.

Cheers,

Ana

Don't mention Wealthy Affiliate in the post.

I have had the exact same thing happen yesterday, I have asked for a review as I have no idea what I have done wrong.

Hello,

Yes, it was not nice to see a suspension.

Make sure to send them a note via the feedback. In another note: I just read a very interesting post within WA about the type of post that Google likes. They don't like people trying to sell but rather providing useful information about a specific topic. I found this post by Herinnelson wrote it and is titled: Staying in good graces with Google Plus

I understand now what I need to do with the next posts I write in Google plus.

Hope it helps!

Ana

Thanks Ana I’ll have a read of that post.
