how is it calculated, especially since I am a starter member? How many rankings are there in all (i.e. if my ranking is 5535, what number goes in the blank: 5535 of ____)?

i just see the number going down for earh refferal i get

Hi Amanda. I wouldn't worry about your WA rank, it's merely a reflection of your activity and engagement within the community here, it's not a benchmark of "success" in any shape or form and it certainly doesn't earn you a dime. It's also true that some of the most financially successful Members don't rank in the WA "league" table, they're too busy earning to engage. Unless you're a prolific writer like Beverley (@BIS) who can knock out 30+ pieces of valuable and worthwhile content a day without breaking sweat, there's no point in ending up with hundreds of blog posts here, especially if they're simply to improve your WA rank, when that content would have done you far more good on your own site. If you're interested in how rank is calculated, this is worth a read https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/carson/blog/wa-member-rank-update-explained :) Rich.

This is what I keep trying to tell folks.

Thanks Rich! I do want to clarify that I'm not necessarily worried or overly concerned with it, I was just curious haha. I am often told that I ask a lot of questions.....the truth is, its my second day as a member, and when I logged in I noticed my rank had changed from "not ranked" (which I had assumed was because I am a starter member), to "5535." I thought that number to be suspiciously high, taking into account the number of members on here. I then realized I didn't know exactly how many WERE on here, so I started typing away in the search bar....and here we are haha. Anyway, thanks for all the great input ya'll! I really am very impressed with the level of support across the board between members, and I'm glad to be a part of it!

No probs. Amanda. :) It's natural to be curious about it and newcomers usually start ranking highly when they first join because they're likely to engage with the community a lot during their first few days and weeks at WA, chatting, blogging, joining discussions and asking questions. I just notice that occasionally some Members who are say they're here to "learn how to earn" mistake social activity within WA for being productive, when they really should be focusing all their attention on the core training and their site. It's fine for those who view WA as a hobby or a social network of like-minded people, but no-one for example should mistake my chat and commenting activity as being something to emulate unless that's their focus or it doesn't impact on their training. I'm set up across multiple computers, televisions, iDevices, etc. blah. so this doesn't interfere with my "working", it's the equivalent of office background noise for me. However, some Members do get distracted by following, socialising, blogging and "competitive" ranking within WA to the detriment of their training and then end up complaining they're not getting anywhere business-wise! :) Rich.

Rich, although I honestly already knew everything you just posted, I think it was exactly what I needed to be reminded of, thank you for helping me refocus my direction =)

Hi Rich, You'll see I am new here. I also had the same question and although your answer is from a few years ago, it was helpful and with clarity.
I too felt the same with regards to blogging etc.. I started thinking, I'm not going to get anything done or learn if I'm too busy responding to everyone. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful to have found WA, and the community of people here like yourself. Bottom line I'm here to learn and earn as well. Best to you in the new year!
Jean
P.s. I do see the irony in my replying to you! Lol.

Exactly! It's really important not to invest too much time on the WA platform and within the community if that's going to end up proving detrimental to your own goals and business. :)

Its an indication of how active you are within WA. New members are unranked until the next daily update and i've seen inactive members with rank of 149,000+ so I guess that's the approximate number that fills in the blank.

Do you know if starter members are ranked separately as a group from premium members, or if all members, regardless of status, are pooled and ranked together?

As far as I know everyone is ranked together. Starter members aren't able to be creators or helpers (they lose the ability to create blogs and discussions) after 7 days so their limited activity means they don't have a chance to get ranked as high as premium members.

Thanks Jay!

Hi. Here is Kyle's video on the Ambassador program which explains ranking https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/the-benefits-of-being-an-ambassador.

Thanks! That was what I was looking for :)

You are welcome. All the best to you.

Great, it helps alot as your information on where to look for ranking info does really shorten one's person time in searching especially for newbie like me coming to 2 months still learning going through the tutorial and somestime have to put aside to do the important things first and has to do the tutorial as and when time permits, thus this is what is good about WA, its a community whereby affiliates talk and network.Good job.

This will be helpful...Thanks Rick!

Deffinitly a big help. Thanks Rick and also thanks Rich (the previous gentleman) for the good advice. I will be following that advice
