About AllanC
Joined September 2013
Hi, My name is Allan, and my online passion has always been for honest and Low Cost ways to make money at home, and to create opportunities for others as well. I joined WA in 2013, and recommitted in May of 2016.

In some ways I consider myself a "late bloomer". After 17+ years in the corporate world, and two college degrees later, graduating with honors in fields totally unrelated to the accounting background of my previous job, I've finally committed to creating an online income that will take me through to full retirement.

I also discovered (again later in life) that I had a better than average voice.
And I love to sing Gospel. No, not professionally, but good enough not to totally annoy anyone who is listening...or maybe I just don't worry any about it anymore. :)

My greatest passion - Sharing the faith in Jesus Christ which has guided me all my adult life. There is an abundant peace found as you seek to live in the grace and forgiveness of God in Christ.

My most teachable scripture - Matthew Chapter 6: 19-34
Here is my condensed version: Earthly treasure has it's function, but it cannot guarantee safety and security...God is my ultimate provider, and security.
Therefore I'll seek the kingdom of God, and His righteousness above all else.

My favorite quote -
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
Your playing small does not serve the world: There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were all meant to shine as children do…it’s not just in some of us it’s in everyone. And as we let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberate others.”
Nelson Mandela.

Hey there BrooklynPhil, I am Allan, but you are the 2nd person to reply to me as John...Does my profile reflect as John on your side? Just curious if I need to address this to Kyle & Carson.
Reply
BrooklynPhil Premium
Actually, I think I'm the third person to call you John... and Allan, I am sorry.
I don't always call people by their profile name, it's not always accurate. What I do is look for a real name at the bottom of the profile (yours of course is in first line of your profile) or scroll and see the name that others are using. I saw John... twice. I might have called you Nelson.

All you need to do is add the name you want to be called at the bottom of your profile and every post. That way there's no doubt.

Phil (but yu can call me BrooklyPhil, Brooklyn, BP or just about anything else).

No problem. I just thought there might have been a technical issue. But I see what may have happened because of the other Johns mentioned.

Hi there Ruth,
If I recall correctly, I was trying to question you on if you had sent your message to the wrong person since I am Allan and not John.

I did some research to determine what might have gone wrong and realized that John and I do look a bit alike - at least in our profile pictures.

However, the entire incident led me to review your profile page, and to my delight I discovered that you were my sister from another mother. :-)...and in fact it was you who looked more like me than John did. lol

Be Blessed my sister.

Every late bloomer I know is captivating. Although circumstances vary, there must be a common thread which makes these personal stories leap straight into one's heart.

The paradox of your college degrees not relating to your career path or job is one experienced by many, including me. When we're very interested and invested in learning, it really points, I think, to a larger than life curiosity. That curiosity propels us down paths which diverge from the one others might expect us to take. Exploration and fulfillment and joy become more important than a "tract".

You have touched me by sharing your faith, Allan. This Sunday, I was flipping cable channels to find a ministry channel. I landed on Bobby Jones Gospel on the BET network, and stayed there a couple of hours (with back to back segments). Man, I enjoyed that. I kept waiting for the "preaching". It never came. But the ministry through music was phenomenal.

Go for "Gospel"! If you love singing it, just go for it. I believe it has to be the most blessed, spirit filled music genre around. We need more of that in the world.

Thanks for making contact on my profile page, Allan. It's delightful to meet you. All the best in your endeavors here!

As a teen facing my final year to graduation, I dreaded the thought of spending more years of study in order to qualify as a professional (______) anything: you can fill in the blank. I was not sure what I wanted to do with my life.

"I knew", but really it was according to everyone else - that it would mean going on to college, and then maybe to grad school, before I reached anywhere close to the path that was expected of me. Well Ha! God had other plans for this life which He called His.

I am happy how things are turning out...I've accepted the concept of life-long learning. I think you're right about there being a curiosity in us which fuels exploration. And for me it was set ablaze by my desire to understand the things of God.

Oh but for my singing...I'm sorry but as much as I enjoy it, for now it's bound to the realms of congregational worship, my quiet times, and the shower, thank you :) no doubting here, just no aspirations for anything else that's all.

Love talking with you, let's keep in touch.

Wonderful, Allan. I could tell that singing was something that you enjoyed, without professional aspirations. Even then I had that in mind, when I said "go for it". Sometimes we hold back from doing what we love, because "busy" (or some other excuse) gets in the way.

Have a great week!

All my life, I have tried to be there for others. I have been disabled, with Polio, since I was 2 1/2 yrs old. I had difficulty finding a job, especially back in the 1970's, when businesses weren't handicapped accessible. My dad was disabled, at a time, when I really needed him the most, in my teen years. My mother was not up on things, because she had only gone to 8th grade and since my dad's disability, pretty much took most of her time. I was shy and not outgoing and had no one, at the time, to guide me, so it ended up I just went through life trying to survive, but never really going anywhere. I never had the money to spend on different things, such as music etc, but I didn't really want any material things. I liked helping people, sometimes a little too much. God has watched over me all my life, even though he has carried me quite a bit of the time, at least he has been there for me and for that I am forever grateful! I am glad I finally found WA and have gotten a good start on my website. Saturday, I finally filled out my account and will be self publishing, with Amazon Kindle. I am working on my first story to put on Kindle e-books. I will also self publish regular paper books too. I am getting really excited, now that I am finally going to get my writing going and maybe actually make some money. Thanks for the follow back and best of luck to you. John

There is a famous quote from Mark Twain:

"If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."

And that just means - do your hardest task first or at least as soon as you can in the morning. If you do this then the rest of your day is easy from there!

ANYWAY…

Hello, thanks for the follow and welcome to WA. You are definitely in the right place!

I believe God has seeded us with great treasures within. But somehow most people choose to hide their treasure from the world. Since I found that quote I'v held onto to it as a reminder and source of inspiration. I'm glad it touched you as well.

You are so right about most people hiding their treasures and talents from the rest of the world. It is a shame, because those talents and treasures are what make all of us unique and special and the thing I like about Wealthy Affiliate is that using our niche and special talents we can create a website that helps bring others into our world that share our talents and treasures. The whole concept of what a niche is.

Have a great day!

Allan, I just had to follow you after your comment on my comment to Jessica. There is only one thing that bugs me more than this and that is to get a person with no profile and that silhouette of Dick Tracy. I respond the same to them. Then there are the FaceBook friend requests. So many put nothing in their about page and their FB login is way different from their WA one. I ask these 1) are you in WA and what is your login there, or 2) How did you find me and why do you want to follow me (via message). No response in a reasonable time - no follow.
Reply
AllanC Premium
Did you get a response from me on this? I wrote a pretty long post and was sure I submitted it, but now I don't see it appearing. So I'm a bit confused...did it post?, is it held up?...I don't understand. I hope I did not click "Cancel" in error.
Reply
HelenpDoyle Premium
Allan, obviously no message here so I checked out where I commented on Jessica's site and no message there. It has apparently fallen in the the internet's 'black hole'.
Reply
AllanC Premium
Okay then, here is a summary of what I wanted to say:

But before that, a recap of the first point - sometimes a none responsive member may be in a state of overload, and overwhelm to the extent that there's a temporary burnout. How long that burnout lasts...only they can tell. If they get past it like I did, then they'll resurface.

Now to the points of the lost post which fell into the www black hole-
1. People looking to make money online are sold the myth of an ever ready on demand 2.5 billion strong online marketplace, where all you have to do set up a website and you'll be on your way online millions in quick time. The market is there, but they are not sitting down just waiting for you and your brand new URL to appear. You have to give them something of value.
2. In a desperate frenzy to capture that market, future millionaire hopefuls, employ all manner of IM strategies which often fall into one category - SPAM. Hence all those unsolicited FB request and emails.
3. Where did this all start? Internet marketing gurus and superstars happened upon their success (sometimes by accident) because they had something of original and genuine value to offer.
But then they reverse engineered the process, packaged it into the online dream scheme, and sold it to people who either did not know of their own, or simply did not have anything of real value to offer to anyone.
4. Building proper business relationships online, should not be that different than doing so offline.

Conclusion - It's frustrating, but sometimes we'll need to be more patient than we want to be, with online community relationships.
Being more patient becomes easier when you understand what's behind all the stuff that's just wrong with people's approach to IM and building online relationships. Too often it's the case that we were set up with the wrong mindset on making money online, by people who were lucky enough to stumble upon their own success.

I'v tried to recapture the main points, and hope I did not chop things up too much to where it's no longer cohesive.

I recognise this person from quite a while ago when I decided not to follow at that point. We have to be careful as lots of people start following us before they are really ready ie they haven't been here long so don't have anything up. BUT it doesn't take long to write a 'hello there I am' type profile message and put one photo in. Another bug me point is all the generic photos like cute little dogs, cats etc, fancy cars and so forth. I like to see real photos.

I agree with you words. Scamming is not nice and we all look out for it but sometimes what may look like it is just coincidence.

Hey Allan! I wanted to start you off with a quick note that could SIGNIFICANTLY impact your success with Wealthy Affiliate. Read this entire message if you are serious about being successful in internet marketing (it's lengthy, but I'm not joking when I say that this advice could make or break your entire internet marketing career):

1) You'll need to work consistently and hard. There's going to be a lot to learn in the beginning and you may feel overwhelmed at a point, but keep pressing forward and you'll make it through. It happened to me and every other successful internet marketer at some point, and the only way to become successful in this industry is to push past that overload whenever you get there.

Do yourself a favor and commit to a number of hours that you can work each week right now. It doesn't have to be massive, but it should be more than 10 between evenings and weekends at least. Just remember the more you work each week, the faster you'll learn and draw closer to success.

After you've picked the number of hours you can work each week, commit to working that much for AT LEAST six months - a year would be better. You won't see results immediately in this industry, and being consistent is the key. Pick a number of hours you can work each week, then work those hours for at least six months. It's something you've probably never done in this industry, and this advice alone will make a HUGE difference in your chances at succeeding with internet marketing as long as you take it seriously and STICK WITH IT.

2) I recommend starting off with this training (which you can access with your free account): https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur-certification-getting-started-level-1

It just scratches the surface of the MASSIVE amount of helpful content in WA, but you'll get a good "feel" for the teaching style here and begin to see the power of all of the great things they're teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate.

3) DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE COMMUNITY. Two of the best places you can go to for help when you get stuck are the "Live Chat" and the "Classrooms" sections located on the panel to your left. You'll find direction and inspiration through the community here, which is one of the reasons I recommend WA so highly.

4) Finally, you don't ever have to upgrade to the premium account here at Wealthy Affiliate if you don't want to. You'll have limited access using your free account for as long as you wish. HOWEVER, if you're serious about internet and affiliate marketing then you should invest in the premium membership for AT LEAST one month. You could look back on it years from now and see it as a pivotal moment in your internet marketing career, but you never will if you don't at least give it a try.

Check it out for a few days though - you don't need to upgrade right now. Make sure it's a good fit for you, and if you upgrade within the first 7 days you'll receive your first month's membership at more than 50% off. I keep my membership active and recurring every month so I can be here for the people I refer like you, so realize that I'm putting my money where my mouth is here!

On top of that, if you upgrade to a premium membership at the discounted rate within the first 7 days I have a special bonus EXCLUSIVE to people that join WA through me and upgrade within the first week of creating their free account. This bonus will show you how to be twice as successful with WA or any other legitimate internet marketing program out there and gives you some very valuable video lessons (which I recorded for you personally, of course) to ensure you get off to the right step in your internet marketing business.

I keep a close watch on the list of people that upgrade from starter to premium, so I'll send the bonus your way within 24 hours. If you upgrade and don't receive it within that time frame for some reason, just post on my WA profile and let me know!

I don't offer that bonus so you'll spring for the membership and make me more money, I offer the bonus just in case you needed that tiny "push" to make sure you invest in this training because I know that you will use for the rest of your IM career and it could change your life. I've referred hundreds of people now and I have NEVER had anyone tell me they were dissatisfied.

Best of luck to you! You're about to embark on a journey that could change your life forever, so make sure you take it seriously, put in the time and effort, and expect great things in return!

You know where to find me,
Ian Pribyl
