Hey Alisa,
If you are talking about a normal link, you can easily add your affiliate link to a regular paragraph block.
However, if you are talking about HTML script that has your affiliate link in it, such as a text and image Amazon link, then you would need an HTML block.
In other words it is HOW you are doing your linking that matters.
Can you explain the following:
1.) is your affiliate link a regular link that could be pasted into your browser's address textbox and work properly?
2.) the steps you are taking to add your link
Thanks for your answer. It seems to be working now - so that's a mystery but a happy result. Cheers, Alisa

Hi All
A lot of food bloggers use this feature (I'm presuming it's a plugin) where their recipes show across the top of the page (like a popup or popdown in this case).
Hi, Alisa, you don't need a plugin, you can do it using CSS. If you're not familiar with CSS let me know what theme you are using and I'll take a look and see if I can help. Best wishes.
Hi Harry - many thanks for your reply and offer of help. I've done a Coursera course on CSS3 but I would say I'm familiar with it but that's it! I'd really appreciate your help. I'm using the SiteOrigin Theme - Unwind.
Cheers
Alisa
Hi, Alisa, I'll take a look and see what I can do. Hopefully I can help you avoid another plugin. Best wishes.
Hi, Alisa, sorry about the delay in replying, but the area in Spain I'm in at the moment had a lot of problems connecting to the internet and crashed my laptop.
I've been using my mobile on G4 to try to keep ahead of emails, but even that's been patchy. I've managed to refresh my laptop and, hopefully, it seems the problems have been resolved and things are gradully getting back to normal.
Before the connection problems and the crash I had everything ready to send to you, although it's not the easiest theme to customize. Below are a couple of screenshots before and after customization. I've cropped the finished one so you may be able to view it better. If you still need my help please let me know. Best wishes.,

Hi All
I'm reaching out to you all because I've got a curly problem and so far Tech Support haven't been able to help either. I've had this website for years and it's in
Hmmmm....site support should have been able to sort this out. Did they looked at your installed plugins if i may ask? Did you look at your Site Health in WA and in the Wordpress Dashboard maybe it will give you new insights why this is happening.
Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, Site Support have been really helpful and don't see any problem when they check my site and the plug ins. They've recommended actions I can take - which I've done but it's a real mystery. Site health says I have too many plugins but I've deleted quite a few of them and this wasn't a problem before. I've checked GTMetrix and that doesn't even show a problem. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. Cheers

Anyone have any experience with this? It just seems much easier to update the facebook events than having to update the website too.
Many thanks, Alisa

Hi All - I create really tidy looking posts and pages but when they are published there's all sorts of big gaps and spaces between lines of text. For example my bullet point li
If you want to remove unwanted blank lines, etc. you can edit your page in text mode and remove some of the extra tags. Then you can back into visual mode and see if that helped to clean it up a bit. Make sure to save your page after all your changes are made.
Hope this helps!
Shawn
Thanks Shawn for your help - there's no extra tags in text mode so will contact tech support. Cheers Alisa :)
It's probably the theme you're using and how it styles things. What you see in your editor view doesn't always match up with what goes live. You can start messing with the CSS but I think that just makes you go through an uneccessary rabbit hole. So you might want to change your theme or contact tech support to help you: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support
Thanks Eddy - I hadn't thought of tech support - what a brilliant idea. I love the theme (except the spaces!) so will try that first - cheers Alisa :)
You're welcome. When it comes to technical issues tech support is always my first stop. They're usually good at anything related to fixing your site.
Hi Eddy - they couldn't help cause it wasn't really anything technical but I'm happy to know that they are there now if I need them. I managed to sort out the prob with some CSS3 which surprisingly worked for me but it's so good to get everyone's solutions too. Many thanks again :)
Hi Alisa, it all about editing you stylesheet to make your site look as you want it. You will need a child theme or a custom css plugin to do this, then you can alter line height (space between lines of text), paragraph space and anything else you need to do. If you need any help, give me a shout
Thanks Harry - I was wondering if a child theme was necessary. A bit beyond me so I might just give you a shout! Cheers Alisa
Hi, Alisa, you can also use a custom CSS plugin to do this. Let me know if you need any help.
Hi Harry
I've now used some CSS3 in the Appearance/Customize section and that's working. I'm pretty sure it will stay in place when wordpress updates but have saved it just in case. Many thanks for the idea about the CSS plugin too. Cheers Alisa
