Best Hosting For Your Site

I have been a Godaddy customer for the past 10 years and always felt like other providers can offer me more for my $.

I would find myself looking for other hosting providers every year around the renewal time, but never really done anything about it.

The thought of having to migrate my sites from one hosting to another gave me a huge headache and was the main reason why I kept putting it off for so many years.

The main reason why I would never recommend Godaddy is because they charge for every single thing and offer way les perks than other hosting providers.

For instance, you will find yourself paying extra for SSL certificates, webmail email, domain privacy and security and much more.

Finally, the stroke that broke the camel's back…..

A few of my sites got hacked (nothing that major) and Goddady offered to fix it for almost $400 with special security plans trying to sell me things that I really don’t need.

Luckily the domains were almost fresh with nothing important and uninstalling the WP application from the Cpanel resolved the issue without taking too much of my time.

Moving on….

Even though I Just renewed my Godaddy hosting in August, I felt that enough is enough and I’m ready to give other providers a try.

After quite a bit of research, I narrowed it down to Blue Host and Siteground.

I was initially comparing those two packages:

Blue Host WP Choice Plus VS Siteground Grow Big

Both companies offer pretty much similar services for similar prices with plans that are more than enough to start with.

Both companies offer free SSL certificates & webmail emails.

Blue Host also offers one free domain for a year with a free domain privacy.

Siteground, does not offer that, but offers free daily backup and malware scan which is huge!!!! I can’t even start to emphasize on that.

In case your site gets hacked you always have the latest version backed up so you can restore everything right away.

Blue Host also offers the same as an add on service that costs extra.

Siteground also has faster speed and less downtime than Blue Host, which is, again, super important for SEO ranking.

I am a big security and performance fan and therefore, it wasn’t much of a debate.

I decided to sign up with Siteground as I felt they offer the most advanced technology to protect my sites.

Their customer service is beyond everything you can find. Their staff is super knowledgeable, way more than Blue Host’s, and they won’t try to sell you plans you don’t need.

In addition, both Blue Host and Siteground have affiliate programs for you to promote within your niche . I personally cannot recommend Blue Host as I never used them.

If security and performance are important to you then Siteground is probably the top leading player in the field.

Who is your hosting provider?
Are you happy with the service?

I am hosting with Siteground but for existing older sites. Most of my new sites are here...

Migration will require some work and time investment so that needs to be planned...

Alexandra,

I initially had a square-space site, but I now have all my websites located here! With the substantial cost savings and convenience of being on the same platform, I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Jeff

Thank you for sharing Jeff :)

It seems WA is the hosting of choice by many over here.

🌸💖

Hi Alex.
I have used Hostgator and Siteground in the past. I found hostgator support to be terrible which prompted me to move to Siteground. I liked them a lot and found their support good too.
However since joining WA I have moved all my sites here and I find the hosting here to be excellent and the support is second to none.
I really think you should forget other hosting companies and use the hosting you get as part of your WA premium membership. I’m very happy with it 🙂

Hello Dave :)

It sounds like WA is a wonderful option.
I may consider that in the future :)

Thanks for the info

Anytime 🤗

I started with GoDaddy, didn't like it. I was with two other hosts, I had same problems you have experienced. The extras cost a lot. Befero Wealthy Affiliate, my las site was WIX. Like everyone else, the cost was high and the functionality always lacking.
Wealthy Affiliate is the best bang for the buck to host Wordpress.

Thank you for sharing:)đź’–

Anything in particular that makes you love WA so much?

🤔🤗

I suppose it is because everything is here and the support is the best I ever had. Price is reasonable considering it includes so much,

Good points!

I never really looked much into it.

Definitely going to research more about it later.
