We can miss a golden marketing opportunity if we do not have our web property's on our smartphones' home screen. As we go through our days, we come into contact with a vast array of people and start and participate in conversations.

It's called " humaning."

Some of us got a "tad bit rusty" through the various lock downs. Zoom is okay, but nothing beats face to face contact. It is what we are designed to do, and most of us do it well. Even if we are not so out going when we get talking about our main passion; online and affiliate marketing there can be a spring in our steps, would you not agree.

One of the things I have done with good results is to load some websites onto my smartphone. When out and about and asked, it is a simple process to share your site.

The easy way; remember the three dots are your friend.

  • Bring up your site in your phones browser.
  • Tap on the three dots top right of the screen in the navigation bar.
  • Scroll down to " add to home screen."
  • Tap and your site will be added to your home screen.

The easy way to share, once again, the three dots are your friend.

  • Tap on your websites icon on your home screen.
  • Your site will come up in your phone we can simply show someone our site or opportunity.
  • Tap on the three dots.
  • Select "share" from the drop down menu.
  • Some of the main options, email, text, and blue tooth. There will be more options, depending on your device.

Choose one and share your web property; if you know the person, or you are prospecting, the next bit of this gig is to get the person to add your website to their home screen.

It's about marketing and sharing. It can add another layer to your marketing. One of the things that come with this is that your sites become part of your everyday working life if that makes sense. It works well if you are into local marketing, marketing of yourself ( this can be a bridge to cross one well worth doing), products, or services.

Taking it to a whole new level, we can create a digital business card quite simply by utilizing a Site Rubix site. Keep it simple one page, add a hero section and blurb about what you do, some page breaks, and have your social media links on it and a contact section at the bottom of the page.

Think in terms of a simple, uncluttered site that will promote you and your business. Simple works!

You are probably thinking, what for?

My question would be, " how many times have you been caught out?" Someone asks what you do or how you do it, why you do what you do, and how much money you are making.

Some simple replies

"Hey, I have a website I can show you, and I can share it with you."

" I am an online marketer I could show you what I do and how you could to if you are interested"

"Online marketing is not as hard as it is made out to be, I have access to platform where I learn marketing skills; would you like to see I can share it with you."

" I leaned all I know from a platform called Wealthy Affiliate, they have step by step training, would you like to see what I have created?"

"Websites are not that hard to create I can show you some examples if you like."

Marketing on the fly.

This works for your niche sites and any local marketing sites that you may have. Some say business cards have gone by the wayside. Given we are dealing with COVID, that may be true to a certain degree.

Creating and sharing a digital footprint is something that people are more receptive to from observation. The win-win is that you share it, and then folks, in turn, share it for you as well.

Sharing this as it is working for me; it may well work for you as well. Let me know what you think—remembering that we are living in a very mobile world. This is a simple way of adding to your marketing endeavors.

Just thinking about it how do you use your smartphone to build, expand, and manage your business?

What a terrific idea Alex. I can't remember how manty times this summer in Mexico when someone would ask me what I do. If they were really interested I would take their contact info and send some information but how much more powerful if I could have said, "here, let me show you" and have it ready on my phone!

Thanks for sharing this tip!!

Mary Ann

This is a very good concept Alex which I am trying to make use of. However, I need to upgrade my smartphone. Mine is too old and too full.
Carol

Yes it can be an issue, especailly if we are using an older phone.

The main problem is that amount of data that some apps chew up. Older phones just don't cut the mustard

It works well and is realativy easy to set. It can be amazing the opportunitys that pass us by day in and day out. Not one of shoe cases where we have to be pushy, just share if the opportunity to do so arises.

Thanks Alex, I just did it. Jim

Hi Jim, let me know how you get on,i think tat it will suit your online presence.

Just getting back into the plant game and I am finding that this kind of marketing works when promoting product.

Haven't encountered downside as yet.

Alex

Good call Jim, just realised I commented and did not take action like you did, now added! Phil

I don’t see a “add to home screen” option when I scroll down either in chrome or safari.
What could be the reason?

Hi Anusuya,

The process that i detailed is for an android phone.

If you are using an android there should be the three dots top right of your navigation bar.

If you are using an Apple try this to add a Website to iPhone or iPad Home Screen.

- open Safari and head to a website you want to pin to the Home Screen.
- Then tap the Share icon at the bottom.
-Then tap Add to Home Screen from the menu.
-Next, type in a name for your shortcut and then tap the Add button.
-Now the website icon will be displayed as a shortcut on the home screen — just like an app.
- When you tap the shortcut, it will open to that page in Safari.

The process on the iPad is the same. But the Share button is located at the upper-right corner of the toolbar next to the address bar.

Hope that helps.

Alex

Thanks, dear for all the wonderful tips.
I was able to do it with iPhone with Safari. Great addition to home screen.
Anu

Mine was iPhone 6 as well.

You are most welcome, Anu, glad it worked for you.

Hi Jerry you are most welcome, there are differences between Android and iPhones.

We just have to use different processes.

I think it is a great idea. I have already added my website to the phone and I will consider making up a siterubix site as you suggest.

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex, thankyou for sharing, how do you find it?

For me it works very well when it comes to sharing with contacts.

Let me know how you get on creating that virtual business card site.

Thank you for stopping by.
