At the time to work on your website, who is your best coach for marketing?

Hi everyone!

I hope you're doing good and staying safe!

As I keep working on our website, I feel more comfortable working on it, but it's always good to hear what others think about it, and this took me to thinking about how well are we prepared to listen to others opinions about your work as marketers.

Today's blogs goes like this.

I keep working on this website for the last two weeks without a break, writing new content, and making 2 videos every week!

I don't often talk much about my private life, but for this blog, I must say I'm a mother of 3 young adults, who live in a different country, so we talk to each other by video conference and we keep in touch as much as their jobs allow them to have a free moment to talk with their mom.

A few weeks ago talking with my youngest son, I told him about his mom being a YouTuber, lol!

He is a very nice boy and he asked me what is my YouTube channel so he could watch a few videos.

Last Friday, we had a talk and I wasn't prepared to get a feedback from my YouTube channel.

He told me, he liked my videos in general, but ...

- Oh my, - I thought - here we go!

So he told me that in general the content was good, and he liked the way I speak and how I do the tutorials (my niche is on crafts)

But then he told me I need to do some better work to get more audience and more views to my videos.

Young People Can Be Your Best Coach For Your Business

For a moment I noticed me thinking as a mom and my son telling me what to do, then I helped to think that was a perfect time for me to listen to a good feedback on my work.

If your children are willing to watch your videos or read your website, and then giving you their point of view. This is worth a million!

So, I started to listen to my son and taking notes of what he told me.

  • Your voice is soft - you need a better microphone (the truth is I don't have one)
  • What devise are your working on for the video? - A small Canon - OK, you might need a better camera. (He told me he has an extra cell phone with a good camera and he was willing to give me that cell phone)
  • Images - I need to improve the images on my videos (miniatures) and get a better software to create them.

The list of suggestion went on and on.

When I switched from my role as a mother to listening to him as someone who has a good point of view, I started to think he knew about what he was talking about.

The Young Generation, Knows Well!

As I was listening to my son, I saw the big opportunity to get an honest feedback to help me to grow my online business.

When Two Generations Work Together, Everything Will Go Better!

If you're working on your own digital business, you might want to ask your children or your parents about giving you a feedback for your business.

Don't get personal if they tell you from their point of view you can work better on this or that.

Take it as they are willing to spend sometime with you and giving you their point of view.

They might know better about their generations point of view, and that can help you to grow your business.

Now, I have a new to do list to work on!

If you don't want to ask your children or your parents for a feedback for your business, you might want to ask your friends, listening to them could be like listening to your targeted client.

Then, my son told me: You have something to work on, and we can talk again in a few weeks!

:)

Think, I'm going to be busy for the next weeks!

Have a great day and keep at it, it will get better!

Alejandra.

You raised a great coach.
Jerry

Thank you Jerry :)

Very interesting Alejandra!

I do believe that those nearest to us are able to give the most valuable feedback most of the time!

Have a fantastic week my friend!

Wow, that's good one. You're lucky to have your son as your marketing coach.
Have a great day Alejandra.

Norleila

Yes, i know I'm so lucky!
Have a great day you to Norleila!

It's true the younger ones are much better at social media influence and newer apps. My teenage daughter often comments on how I should edit photos taken and visuals created for my website. I only use Canva but she said Pilarr has better filters, which she used to create her videos. Much to learn from them.

Wish you a good day, Alejandra.

Awesome, Alejandra! Important feedback from your son for sure! Thanks for sharing all the tips with us, and keep being successful!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff!
