Day 1 of "The New Old New Me" in the Books

See that picture up there? that’s me, pissed off that I have do all of this over again!

Still, it’s time to get back on the horse!

The first day of any new challenge in your life is never easy and today was no exception. Nothing went terribly wrong, I just found myself constantly having to reel my mind back in from wandering and legs from wandering to the kitchen! I have gotten out of the habit of being mindful of what I’m eating – and that’s a bad, bad habit. The only way I was able to break that habit before was through mediation and slowly brining my mind under control – it certainly is harder than it sounds.

I fought through it today and stayed on track with my food:

  • Oatmeal w/organic honey, an apple and jasmine tea for breakfast
  • 2 slices of roast pork loin, and salad with a variety of lettuces, and 1 serving of ranch dressing
  • 1 protein shake made with skim milk and a banana for a snack
  • Coq au Vin, whole grain pasta, and mixed veggies for dinner.

I also got back on my recumbent bike and did 4 miles in 20 minutes – but this was a HARD 20 minutes on the most difficult setting my machine has. in 30 days time it will be 45 minutes on my elliptical again – just gotta get the blood and oxygen flowing first.

So, day one is in the books. Don’t worry, more interesting posts will be coming in time. I have a bunch of cool topics drafted in my editor that have to deal with food, nutrition, herbs, teas, and all kinds of other good stuff. Trying to find my groove…

Thank you all for your support :) It means the world to me. Peace, Adam

Hey Adam, Unfortunately I have the problem of NOT eating when I become involved with a project. I lose myself and my husband has to remind me to eat. I am not skinny and I don't want to be. I know I need to eat however to keep my metabolism in check. Thanks and keep blogging.

Tomorrow will be a little easier! :-)

Day 1 ... success ... build on it!

I shall! One day at a time... :) Peace, Adam

Adam, what's your blood type? Some would say it's a bunch of bunk, but I believe in eating for your type. I'm a gluten intolerant Type A who has been told to stay away from most animal protein and night shade vegetables. The diet works well for me. It's worth a look, if you haven't read about it. Good luck and nice job on the workout today. :O)

Thank you for your comment :0 I don't anything about blood type dieting but (as a baseball fan) I know that the Red Sox David Ortiz eats that way now. I will definitely look into it. I am not one to poo-poo things I don't investigate. Do you have any good resources to ge tme started? Thanks again. Peace, Adam

This is the book I have, which is awesome if you read and like to know 'why': Eat Right for Your Type by Peter D'Adamo
Here's a chart that shows what foods are beneficial, neutral, or should be avoided for Type A, B, AB, and O: http://eregimens.com/therapies/Diet/ER4YTFoodChart.htm

It might be an interesting diet to review on your website. :O)

You'll do it. Why? Because you did it before. To me, that means you can do it again. And we could use a new photo, Adam. That pissed off face of yours is a wee bit too fierce. :) Cheering you on!!!

Hahahaha - thanks for your support and your sense of humor! I am sure that face will soften up as the days go by. Peace, Adam
