Keywords, content and mother tongue.
While I was making the lesson "Content, Keywords and Conversions" I began to do my keywords research and I realized that I'm in a market completely different from others.
To make a research in English is not the same that in Portuguese or other language, and the result can be quite different as well!
For instance, I made a research on Jaaxy on the "selling keywords" with the English keyword "how to sell books online". The result was AVG 6946 TRAF 1181 QSR 225.
When I made the research with the exactly same Keyword but in Portuguese "como vender livros online", the result was AVG <10 TRAF <10 QSR 5.
So I searched so many Portuguese keywords related to "selling" or "making money" online (since my website is in Portuguese language), and I don't think it works because the Average and the Traffic are too low.
I'd like to have some more opinions about this issue from other members that use other languages than English in their websites. Please let me know your experience with foreign keywords.

Yeah, i noticed that, to bad my language has this stupid characters "å ä ö" witch are quite common :P
Hi Markus! Have you tried to write the keyword with single letters without any accent? Because I do this in Portuguese language and it seems to work fine.

I have made my own discoveries while studying cpc and ctr on adsense. To my surprise on, who where the countries that did the most shopping or spend on ads on the internet. The list shows USA as No 1 with a big margin in comparison to other countries. 2nd was Australia, and then so on.
So most of the traffic will go to english speaking languages.

Hi, im from Sweden and have the same problem. Im using google adwords ( https://www.google.com/adwords/ ). Its free. The results wont be 100 % correct, but it can give you a hint on how many searches your keyword gets per mouth. You can even "dig" and get some similar keyword, but sometimes those are in english. Try it out :) //Markus
At the moment I only use the Google keyword planner. I've bookmarked some others and have to test them.

Jaaxy and the WA keyword tool only work correct with English searches, I have Dutch website, and I am using the alphabet soup, and when I find a phrase under the 500 hits, I am glad, and when I find a phrase under the 100 hits I am excited
This is a great question, to which I don't know the answer.
I see websites in Dutch, Norwegian and also wonder how keyword research was done or weather some other process was used to translate the content.
I do lots of personal searches on the web in Spanish and I am surprised that there is always a couple of pages of my keywords in the results.

In fact the WA keyword tool and Jaaxy seems to work in portuguese and in spanish language, and like you say, there is always several results when you do some research. But the question is: can you trust those results?

Yes, but being a linguist I can tell you that your username in The English is " Toward goddess" . There is no word for "bye" in Spanish. Adios is a compound word which is " to God". No word for your welcome, in Spanish you say, "of nothing".
In English, it looks like bow and dow should rhyme, as well as bough and dough would rhyme.
But bow and dough rhyme and dow and bough rhyme.
bough is one word and bought sound nothing alike.

In this case I think the research tool is blind, I mean it doesn't care about the meaning of each word it just research similar words in the web, so in fact it doesn't matter the used language.
