Implement ads.txt to boost your ad revenue
Good evening/morning to everyone in the community of WA. I need your help on how to update ads.txt on a website.
I applied to Media.net and this is what it requires to be done. This is the statement from Media.net:
"We strongly recommend that you implement ads.txt on your website at the earliest to avoid losing out on advertiser spend and therefore, revenue.
Update your ads.txt by adding the lines of code below to your ads.txt file exactly as is:"
media.net, 8CUU7ZX41, DIRECT
rubiconproject.com, 19398, DIRECT, 0bfd66d529a55807
rubiconproject.com, 19398, RESELLER, 0bfd66d529a55807
pubmatic.com, 157599, DIRECT, 5d62403b186f2ace
pubmatic.com, 157599, RESELLER, 5d62403b186f2ace
openx.com, 537100188, RESELLER, 6a698e2ec38604c6
google.com, pub-7439041255533808, RESELLER, f08c47fec0942fa0
districtm.io, 100600, DIRECT
rubiconproject.com, 17054, RESELLER
pubmatic.com, 156181, RESELLER
spotxchange.com, 211156, RESELLER, 7842df1d2fe2db34
spotx.tv, 211156, RESELLER, 7842df1d2fe2db34
Here is the step to follow:
For WordPress sites:
- Install the Ads.txt Manager Plugin in your Wordpress admin console
- Add the data for domain name of the advertiser, seller account ID, type of relationship (DIRECT or RESELLER), and certification authority ID (optional) into the plugin. Our provider IDs are in the box above.
It's clear but to me it's still complicated. I might be doing something that makes my head ache.
Thanks for the support.

The problem I'm having is whether to share or allow Ad Manager access to Ad Sense - as the pop up box states. Google recommends the Ads.Txt file attached to the root file - which Support can help you with. The problem with that is that you can't easily control Google Ads as they will just run wherever and whenever they like on your site - unlike Google AdSense plug-in (which you could control at one time). If, on the other hand, you use a Google "unofficial" plug-in, well, some plug-ins may allow whether to even designate ads on certain pages. ...and on the other - other hand, yes, I sometimes have three hands, I'm wondering about the ominous message from Google re: third-party ads, and whether they are valid, or whether you're being properly credited, etc, etc. ....hmmm... So, if you go through a plug-in, rather than the Ads.Txt file attached to the root file, there "may" be a chance you lose revenue anyway.... ...So, who trusted the Plug-ins? Let's hear from you! Thanks!

Ok, here's what I did. Both! lol... For some of my sites, I asked support to upload the Ads.Txt file, but for some other sites, I added the Plug-in "Ad Inserter" by Igor Funa. This plugin allows you to input your Google Publisher code yourself as opposed to the other Ad Manager - which doesn't allow for that. Instead, they wanted "access" to my Google Adsense account... and no, I don't approve. I'll insert my own code - thank you. At least, that way, I know it's copied exact, and I'm being credited properly. If, by chance, you are using the Ad Manager plugin and allowed them access, ...I'm not saying they are doing anything wrong, but... you may want to check anyway. Won't hurt! Try the other plugin for a while... See if there are any changes to your Ad money being credited. If approx the same, then, you'll know all was and is well. Good Luck!
