I had the same question with my first website and as Dj66 says below, it seems that both your ideas are along the same topic, so I wouldn't worry about that. You could for example have a section on your website reserved to knives, another chefs' tools reviews/comparisons, etc.

It’s your website so you can do whatever you like with it. Better to swap with to a topic you are excited about than plod on with something you are just going through the motions with
Sure thing. As a chef it was to be about a high end knife and showing others the benefits of buying it.
Now that I have done some writing I would like to change it to more of comparing products ala a battle between chefs tools and who I would prefer to use
