Where have all the flowers gone?

Do you remember this song?

'Where have all the flowers gone' was written by Pete Seeger in the 50s, made popular in the 1960s by The Kingston trio, who allegedly recorded it after hearing Peter, Paul and Mary perform the song in concert (songfacts.com).

I dont know if I can tie that in, as it was a fleeting moment when the song floated by.

Yet, it is relative.

The song was written about the calameties of war, the loss of innocence, really, as the lives are changed, the beauty scarred, never to be seen again until the next bloom, generation, etc.

Here's the tie-in.

A few days ago I was perusing my documents folder and came upon a bunch of PDF docs from 2011.

(As you may or may not recall, these are the same files I spoke of in my recrnt post about free Images).

These pdfs were related to my initial attempt at digitsl marketing, back when the sales page ruled...

Granted, a lot has changed in the past 11 years, digitally speaking, in 2013 I learned how to code websites to make them responsive to mobile use. Today, very few themes are not mobile ready.

Same goes for the SEO.

Someone figured out how to make money by selecting a few choice methods on how to rank websites. SEO was born.

But, in reality, the same aspects of 2011 and 2022 are the same:

Write what you know, and IF the topic is interesting enough, people will find you...

Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly.

The main goal is to find the people who need your help, and show them better than anyone else how to ease their pain.

And how do you do this?

You follow the cookie crumb trail left by those who walk the talk.. our own ParthaB sears his own trail in the internet world and has provided us with tips on how to find the right keywords, and has also given us instruction on how to find these precious keywords.

Now its up to us to do the work! The trail has been provided, gather the crumbs that work best for you.

SEO is a tool. A suggestion.

Do an A/B test. Create a free one-page website using the seo tool/plugin of your own choosing, and create the same without using an SEO plugin. Which one ranks better?

Be carefule not to use the same content or you could get hit for plagerism/duplicate content.

I don't know about you, but I got tired of trying to conform to the everchanging SEO standards, just to satisfy google. If your websites get noticed on ANY search engine, thats great!

We get most disappointed when our gratification is not instantly fufilled.

An online business is like any other business. You must work countless hours learning and configuring your business before it starts to make a profit...or at least until it starts to bring in any sort of income, the profits will come.

Sure, some people hit the mark and score a 10, and some of us try and try and try and try and....try again before something finally takes shape.

And some people realize that making money in a quick minute isn't as possible as we were told by online gurus who swear its possible. They neglect to tell you how much work and effort they had to do before they became successful!

Do yourself a favor...be honest with yourself about creating a business online.

How much time are you willing to spend to make an online business a reality?

Creating an Online business is not for everyone, some folks will succeed, and some folks will not. And that is okay. Cut your losses, take the information youve learned and apply it to something else in your life.

As far as the opening sentence, Where have all the flowers gone, I'll leave that up to you whether or not I was able to tie it into this post...

A great read Rudy! When starting out in the online business world it is hard to understand how time consuming it can be..

But the more we work the easier things become, invest the time and hard work now, be patient and persistent, never throw in the towel and we will all reap the benefits in the future!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friend!

Thanks!

There's a fine line between knowing when you've 'thrown in the towel' or when you realize that this path isn't for you, and take whatever winnings you made (in this case, the knowledge you learned),, and move on!

We don't want to dissuade anyone, yet, we also want to be supportive of their decision when they feel that this just isn't their 'cup of tea'.

Affiliate marketing is not for everyone. If it were, Everyone would be doing it!

However, anytime you try something new, you learn, and sometimes that knowledge appears to help guide you in some other situation or experience.

Well said my friend.. I have had a couple of businesses in the past that I have thrown the towel on so to speak...

Why?? They weren't going anywhere and I was losing more money monthly than I could really afford!

Maybe if I stuck with one or two I would be a multi millionaire right now.. but I am not one who would risk making his family homeless in the process!

There are risks involved in all aspects of life.. it is taking the right risk which will ultimately pay off..

Thanks, and absolutely.. I know the idea is to keep going no matter what, but sometimes, sensibility has got to become a factor.

I was fortunate, Rudy, and heard Pete Seeger sing that song live. I went to maybe three Seeger concerts. I was always impressed by the way he got the audience involved.

You are certainly right about the hours this process takes. We must also develop patience, as we aren't going to reach the top very quickly. but, with focus and perseverance, we can make it.

Wow, how cool to have made his concerts!!

And yes, patience and perseverance goes hand in hand.

Nice one Rudy, I read somewhere that only 10% of affiliate marketers make $50,000 or more.
We just have to decide if we want to be in that 10%
Stephen

Is that annually or monthly income....grin.

Yeah,I want to be in the top 10% of earners!

Rudy

Lol, personally I think a lot more than 10% could do it, they just give up too soon. And for me , I’m aimiming for the top 1 %. But I have always been a precocious child.
Canty got it right. Peter Pan I am. But not a Peter flash in the pan.lol.

"... long time passing." Loved Mary Travers' voice. I was sad when she passed in 2009.

Yeah, me too!

Rudy

I think I was in love with her as a teenager lol.
