PPC Device Targeting For Beginners
When you create ads on popular places like Google and Microsoft (Bing), they are displayed for 3 types of users:
- Mobile
- Tablet
- Desktop (laptops)
However, not all users who visit from these 3 types of devices are the same and typically desktop clicks are valued to be higher than the other 2 because there is just more attention, more conversions and a better reputation for desktop users to convert into sales/leads. This video showcases a simple way to set your ads up so you get more desktop users than the other 2 in Google Ads.

Hi Vitaliy,
In Kyle's PPC series in Class 3 on MIcrosoft Ads, Kyle says on desktop to Increase by 0% while decreasing mobile and tablets by 100%. ChatGPT also says on Microsoft Ads on desktop to Increase by 0% while decreasing mobile and tablets by 100%. Yet you are saying on Google Ads on desktop to Increase by 100% while deceasing mobile and tablets by 100%. If device settings work the same for both Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, what should the desktop setting be to maximize desktop? This is very important to me. I lost money previously because of device settings.

I just keep it at 100%+ on Desktop and -100% on the others Bill. This has always gotten me traffic from desktop. I think you can also do 0% but the others have to be set to -100% so Google or Bing won't show your ads on the other devices.
Hi Vitaliy, Just to make sure, to maximize desktop traffic on Microsoft (and Google), you are suggesting I Increase Desktop to +100% and Decrease both Mobile and Tablet to -100%. But you also think I can Increase Desktop to +0% if I still Decrease Mobile and Tablet to -100%. Your settings look more logical.

Yes correct.
