Hello good people! I have to unfortunately end my journey here, at least until I get back on my feet. My bank account is so low, that even the monthly fee here will put me da

Sorry to see you go. I hope thing turn around soon for you. Best wishes.

Susan

Thanks Susan. It's appreciated.

Your site is hosted at WA, so yes, if you cancel, it will to all intents and purposes, disappear. To prevent that, you need to engage an alternative web host, transfer your site across and point your domain name to their servers.

I have around half my 30 websites hosted at WA and the rest at SiteGround. You should have a look at their plans to see if they have one you can afford.

Thanks Phil for that valuable info. I'll check out SiteGround. Much appreciated.

I've found SiteGround excellent.

Unfortunately, their offer like most sites is false advertising. I mean, it's moreso bait and switch tactics. They say basic is $2.99/mo, and the 'best value' is $4.99/mo. Then when you go to the payment screen, it's only 2.99 and 4.99 respectively if you get the full year paid in full, otherwise, it's 29.99/mo and 34.99/mo respectively. Can't really afford that right now honestly. I'll look into other sites that do the same. Doesn't Godaddy do it? I'm already through them. I transferred the nameservers to WA. I can just switch it back, isn't that true? I'll talk to their tech support and read further into that process. Thanks again Phil.

I'm so sorry, Adam, I didn't realize that. I'm on one of the higher plans that host a number of websites so wasn't aware that the cheap startup was only if you paid for a year. Maybe you should Google cheap web hosts and see what comes up. And yes, if GoDaddy hosts your domain name, you should be able to point it at the name servers of whoever you choose as your web host.

I hope you get better and get back on your feet soon, Adam!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff, you and me both.

I'll send some prayers your way, Adam!

Jeff🙏🙏

Sorry to see you go Adam! But I totally understand and wish you the best man.

Thanks Vitaliy. Wish I didn't have to go for such a ridiculous reason, but I've been here before, and somehow I managed to pull myself out of the ditches. I do know it's by the graces of my parents helping me out, given they feel so bad that I got a brain tumor and its affected me a lot, financially, emotionally, everything. They have started running out of money as well, so I know I can't ask them every again. Not sure how, but I'll try to get back on my feet. Thanks again.

No problem man, hope you recover fully and make a major comeback!

Everything Wordpress

So, I got an email from WordPress a few days ago that states that I should update the nameservers to theirs to finish setting up my site.

Here is the full email copy a

Your primary issue is that you have built your site on wordpress.com, instead of on the WordPress platform used by Wealthy Affiliate. I know it can be confusing, but wordpress.com is totally independent of the WordPress platform used by Wealthy Affiliate and other web hosts.

You should contact Site Support and ask for their help to transfer your site across. Leave the domain name pointed to WA's servers.

As far as I know, I changed my nameservers to WA's. I log into my site through WA under Websites as well. How could it be that I'm possibly going in through WordPress when I only access my site through this site? VERY confusing stuff Phil. Hurts my brain.

Hi Adam,

I notice that you are a Premium member.

Did you know you can host your website here on WA?

No extra fees.

Simply ask Site Support for assistance on this.

This ending to this pages URL leaves a lot to be desired. It's almost as if wordpress became self-aware, decided to become the bully, and 'trash' my site. Can this be explain

Hi - I do hope you get this fixed, but on another note, Google is going to see that post as "thin content" and it is unlikely to rank highly.

It's just a long list of affiliate links with one or two sentences for each link.

It offers no value to the reader, Google is looking for unique information, not just an extremely short description of a product.

Ideally, the majority of your posts should be solely informational, and offer helpful advice, and not every post should have affiliate links, especially in the early stages.

You need to show Google you want to solve people's problems without being desperate to sell them something.

Start by building up a topic cluster of posts that all focus on one subject.

So, you could start with hacks and tips for cooking, preparing, and storing eggs, here are some ideas.

Are there easy hacks for perfectly boiling eggs every time?
Are silicone egg poachers safe and effective for cooking?
Are there creative ways to store leftover egg whites?
Are microwave egg cookers quick solutions for busy mornings?
Are DIY egg carton organizers practical for storage efficiency?
Are there hacks for peeling hard-boiled eggs effortlessly?
Are egg freshness tests reliable indicators for cooking?
Are there secret tricks for fluffy and light scrambled eggs?
Are mason jar egg scrambles convenient for meal prep?
Are silicone egg rings useful for shaping eggs in cooking?

And then, having written these individual posts, you could have a "resource" page that lists the appropriate gadgets.

And within the individual posts, have an internal link that leads to your resource page.

That way, you are showing Google that your site is informational and helpful, but still giving people the opportunity to purchase.

Diane, if you read the title, you realize it's simply a list of 50 gadgets that work best in the kitchen. I list them as a lot of other, major, super popular sites do. I've done my research in that aspect, in fact, I took a couple of the most popular sites that did something extremely similar, and mashed both their sites together, to create what you see there. It's really no different at all. Like you said, those sites have been around a lot longer, and can 'afford to' just do something basic like that. If you delved deeper into my site, my other 2 blog posts, you'd have seen that I go way further in depth into other hacks and gadgets in providing the readers with informational data into each gadget, not just a simple list.

As to your suggestions for the hacks and tips for cooking, preparing and storing eggs, those tips are indeed very helpful, and I could do that in future posts, but I feel I already did very similar to that in prior ones.

Google may not rank my site very high for a slew of reasons, including things I have very little control over. That's just google basically. I will try to implement some of the very useful tips and tricks to manipulating Google to feel the need to rank my site higher. I'd also appreciate it if you could also read/review my other blog posts to ascertain whether or not they are google rank worthy or not. Probably the latter, since I don't have ANY experience with blogs.

I appreciate your insight Diane, thank you and I look forward to whatever suggestions you have about google rankings and other useful information I can include in this and other blog postings.

In the first instance, I'd just go into Quick Edit and fix the slug.

Thank you Phil, I will quick edit and fix that. It's really that easy? I have so much to learn about editing in WordPress. Do you have any training videos I can watch that maybe Kyle made about WordPress and more advanced editing?

All my training up to June 20 is listed at You may find something useful there.

Editing the slug with quick edit worked like a charm, thanks Phil.
I'm learning a lot from that list of all your training courses as well.
So, thanks again.

Totally my pleasure, Adam.

Hi Adam that is strange and I wish I had a good answer for it but what I am noticing is all the bold text on the post and that seems very strange to me as well, at the very least that should be corrected.

Ok Vitaliy, I'll get to work removing the bold titles on all the items.

Thanks for the tip to remove all of the bold text. I did that and here's to hoping it doesn't get trashed again. Back in the saddle again!
