Stick to the prescribed path .

My main take away from the first 2 modules (and from all the other conversations, blogs, posts and comments that I have read up to now) is that it is definitely best to just stick to the prescribed path.

What do I mean by stick to the path?

Well, I generally tend to be someone who likes to move through things as quickly as possible and what I encountered in my journey thus far is that jumping ahead causes a lot of stress and really does slow your overall progress. I think an example that comes to mind for me is when I got to the step of sharing my website in the Site Feedback group. When I saw some of the other websites I was almost quite embarrassed that my site was so bare in comparison....... I had no banners and no social media links, etc. The site was (and still is) a work in progress. After seeing these other sites I got distracted and felt that I had to also try and get something in the form of advertising on my site. This led me to wasting a lot of time looking into what affiliate programs there were in my niche and even applying to join some of these affiliate programs.

To cut a long story short, I have come to the conclusion that if I had just followed the steps as they are laid out I would have probably been a bit further along in the training. As I have become aware, all these topics do get addressed later on in the training, so I really had no reason to panic and jump from where I was to somewhere else that was a few steps ahead.

My advice (for what it is worth) is to just stick to the steps. Many have followed these exact steps before and have achieved the success that we all hope for, so this should be reason enough not to try and find a quicker/easier way.

Good evening Ziyaad,

Nice to see you again, I hope you are keeping well.
Thank you for this good post, it is indeed better to take step after step. I am anyhow as fast as a turtle.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Hi Taetske,

Great to hear from you again. I am well thanks and I hope the same on your side.
Lol, even if you are moving at a turtle pace at least you are on the right path and not like the hare who moves much faster but down the complete wrong path.

Keep well.

Ziyaad

Thank you @Ziyaad for the advice please checkout my site for feedback if you don't mind I would appreciate that?

Hi Angie,

Sure no problem. Just send me the link to your site and I will gladly provide some feedback.

So so true, The path laid out through the course is laid out by experienced and successful marketers. At the beginning of anything new, one has to take baby steps , and once one has mastered and found success, one can take steps to enhance the look of the blogs, that is, if there is a need.
I also tried to complicate things, and tried to find new things before i completed the course, and i felt stressed as well.
Just follow the program.

I agree completely. The touching up and adding things can happen once you have mastered the foundations.

You are so right. There is no sense trying to re invent the wheel since Wealthy Affiliate has done that for us.

I did that a few years ago here at WA and all it did was result in failure and agony. So this time around I am taking my time and doing things right.

That way failure is not an option.

Dale

Hi Dale,

Yes, I think for me going forward in the next modules I am definitely going to take my time and not try to rush.
