I feel a little disappointed with the outcome at Amazon

Hi everyone, well, I've been locked out of Amazon. Boo Hoo.

I'm not complaining; I feel sad.

I've had some good positives this month with Google, but I was hoping to make sales at Amazon, but to no avail, it wasn't to be so.

I have spent the entire afternoon deleting all my links to Amazon.

I have been looking at other alternatives, but one company said if my account is inactive for 6 months, they will charge me, so I gave them the boot.

Now I am going to start fresh and continue to create more posts.

So if anyone knows of a good Affiliate Program ideal for AeroGardens, please pm me, and I will apply.

I have applied to ShareASale, so I am waiting on them to respond; they said it would take about 3 days for them to get back to me.

Thank you all, now I feel much better.

Amazon is such a pain!! I too am looking for 3 sales. And I haven't had any yet.

Why can't we help each other; it makes sense to. Hit me up everyone, who wants an Amazon sale and I will do it for you if I can. Private message me please.

That is so sweet of you, Aparna. I am looking at alternatives. I'm not going to reapply to Amazon, yet I will do it later on.

I agree with Aparna155 we can help eachother to get past the '3 sale rule' so let me know also. I know Amazon is not the end of the world but some peoples Niche's may depend heavily on them at the start

I agree with you. Because Amazon was easy to apply to I did think I would make some sales.

Good decision. I would happily give up Amazon; except who has the strength to look for all the damn links now!!

Aparna, that's how I got my three -- someone on here bought a couple of things from me.

:)

Honestly, Amazon's algorithm will identify the activity and could remove everyone involved from their program, as it violates their terms & conditions. It sounds good, but you are tempting fate to try it.

I guess you are right. And it doesn't work so easily. You gotta have the amazon associates program for that particular country.

By the way, Jeannine, how did mine become a featured comment? Oh dear ... it's not even a legal comment. Who makes comments "Featured"?

I think it became featured because so many people replied to it. I'm not quite sure of the WA algorithms!

Thanks Jean

Thank heavens Yvonne put this question in here.

It gave me a chance to rethink my reason for signing up with Amazon in the first place. You see, I am in the MMO niche (if it can even be called a niche at all). And therefore I hardly ever add any Amazon products in my articles. There just isn't anything substantially MMO-like in Amazon. So that clears my mind about Amazon, and I could well do without it.

But yes, for those who are actively recommending Amazon stuff within their blogs, being an Amazon Associate is invaluable.

Just my thoughts.

Aparna

Hi Aparna
Thank you for your support. I would not be putting off joining Amazon, but they are not the same anymore for what others are saying. The amount of work that goes into reviews and the rewards at the end is minimal.

Amazon treats their affiliates horribly.

One day cookie, dozens of reasons to kick you out of their program and withhold all commission, commission cuts without warning.

Sure, if that treatment is okay with you, join them. But then, when you managed to attract a $60 sale and get a $.60 commission, you did it to yourself.

I can't stand Amazon.

Beginning to feel the same way :)

The truth is Yvonne, in my experience, Amazon is far and away the best affiliate to be with. I would like to know of all the members below who have expressed their unhappiness with Amazon, how many are actually making regular commissions with other affiliates?

I am in the same niche as you - gardening. I have links to a number of affiliate programs on my site but Amazon converts the best by miles. I have a 10% to 15% conversion rate with them and make around $700 a month in commission, even at 3%. Of all the other affiliate programs I am a member of I rarely make sales, plenty of clicks but conversions are much more difficult.

The bottom line is, if you have decent traffic and well written reviews or best of posts then you can't fail to make money from Amazon.

Great information.

Thank you for providing me with confidence to still continue with Amazon. Much appreciated.

Yvonne, sorry to hear that, it is something I got tired of with amazon, being that if you didn't make 2 sales In 3 months, the account was redundant, that I appreciate they want to make sales, yet they lose nothing to keep accounts running, after all, we don't know when our particular site suddenly ramps and sale comes in right?
I was so tired of going through my posts removing links just pissed me off entirely, who needs that extra work anyway? lol

Better luck with your new affiliates.

Chris

I totally agree with you Chris, it is a lot of hard work unlinking everything.

This is a good niche to get into -- it's fairly new though. As a prepper it looks like there would be some valuable information for us who want to raise our own fish and food in our ponds and such. I grew mary jane hydroponically and had great results. While in Hawaii I had met a woman who wanted to grow nothing but herbs and she had gone to college and learned all about this. I am thinking this is the way of the future so what valuable information you can share would greatly be appreciated. Think outside the box in figuring out where folks such as myself hang out? I gave you a hint -- and you know if you are knowledgeable how about thinking about selling your own information about building your own aero garden or something to that nature. You could offer information for free and build up a click here and get their email and build a customer base that way. Have a blog or landing page and then offer them a free something of value in exchange for their email.

Thank you so much for the advice. I did do a post on building your own AeroGarden out of recycling products. For instance: plastic box, drinking water bottles. cutting off the tops to act as a glass house and cut off old small gardening pots and put splits down the side for water and roots to grow. Inserted them with Peat. Used a LED light that can be purchased from AeroGarden and purchase a small fishpond or fish tank pump. You can see the images on my website.

Hello Yvonne.
I think this happens to most of us. I got booted out my first time for not meeting the three sales within the time limit. I applied again and they let me back in. So far I have two sales with a little time left to get in the third before they boot me again. I think they only give a 24-48 hour cookie time for your customer to click on your link and make the sale.
Keep pressing forward, you will find the right affiliate programs.
Be safe
Mike

Thank you for the pep talk.
